Why aren't you using Slackware yet /g/? It is so fucking comfy.
>le timesink
You will spend much more time on fixed broken packages or setting up Arch.
>very hard
Easier than Arch, Gentoo and still doesn't treat you like a baby, so you actually learn something
>you have to fetch dependenciesslackpkg info <package>
Was that very hard.
>you have to compile everything
You can get more repos.
Also no fucking systemd.
>>59491418
But I already using it.
Because it contains non free software.
>>59491478
Making it free is FUCKING easy.

>>59491589
Yes, freeslack project makes it Free as in Freedom.
row row row your bits, gently down the stream....
>>59491654
Because Arch gives me a good balance of power and ease of use.
>>59491673pacman -Syu
>>59491418
whats the difference between slackware and arch?
>yet
>>59491713
Nothing it's all Linux with different package managers. Why freetards work on hundreds of turds instead of polishing one I will never understand
>>59491713
Slackware is the only Linux distro that upholds the Unix philosophy.
>>59491737
K.I.S.S.
>>59491713
>no systemd
>more secure
>more stable
>no automatic dependency resolution
>has BoB
>>59491729
Did Lunduke pay you to say this?
>>59491737
Also CRUX maintains, AFAIK it.
>>59491745
Arch is no fucking way KISS.
>>59491713
fuck off we are full
>>59491418
Pulseaudio
Requires specific version of tar
Not as stable as it used to be
Community is cancer
>>59491418
I did use Slack for a few months.
I never had to fix broken packages on other distros and I never used Arch.
But I did waste a lot of time doing basic shit on Slack, though.
I use Slackware and I was very annoyed by the way it did recovery from hibernation. Then after some searching I appended a kernel option in lilo.conf. Now it doesn't hang when I recover it from sleep. That's about all. Peace out.
>>59491418
AFAIK, it's managed by a single individual. That alone is reason enough for me to steer clear of it.
>>59491418
But I don't have an aversion to systemd because I didn't grow up without it unlike some old farts who somehow are still on 4chan, and even if I did, why would I use this over OpenBSD or even FreeBSD?
