What is the "gentoo" or "archlinux" of window managers?
In other words, what wm should I use if I want to be a hipster in the linux world? Something that's functional to use but has quirks the linux community looks down upon.

well I use Debian sid and Emacs (exwm), forget gentoo and archlinux.

i3. At first you'll think it's a meme, but in a week or two once it's customized and you are used to it you will enjoy having a much better workflow.
