What programming language is the absolute BEST to learn first? I only want the BEST one. None of your meme languages that I see you guys post about. I know absolutely nothing about programming, but tell me the BEST language.
Assembly
you will learn alot about other languages, some high level level like python, some lower like c but you will keep getting back to assembly, because it's nature lies in simplicity.

There is no such thing. Go home.

I haven't been on this board in 3 years and this is the first thread I see. /g/ hasn't changed a bit. Same newfags asking the same questions.

well hello there newfriend, enjoy your stay and leave.

Fantastic reading comprehension, I see that hasn't changed either.
nobody is taking me seriously......
>>59483867
because its a stupid question because there is no definitive best language chump
>>59483550
Python or Java.
>>59483550
HolyC
>>59483952
This.
If you're an absolute beginner honestly just go with Python, simple syntax and shit tons of sources online to learn it. Have fun, OP.

Number 2 kills me.

Any general purpose imperative language is good for learning, unless you KNOW for a fact that you're interested specifically in a particular subfield (webdev, AI, security, osdev, functional programming, etc). I'd suggest something like Javascript, Lua, or Python to start with, the toolchains are very easy to set up, and they abstract away a lot of the details so you can focus on learning algorithms and program structure. They support OOP, which is a popular paradigm these days, but don't force you into it. These languages aren't really used much where performance is needed, but the general programming skills are more or less the same, unless you go into something really unusual or obscure.
>>59483969
this. especially if you are a pajeet
>>59483550
Do you want to work and learn the hard way but with solid basis? C
Do you want to learn programming the easy way and improve and lean on the job? I would recommend javascript but any scripting language will do the trick. Or python like some people are saying here.
>>59483996
There's no OpenGL >3.0 C GUI library that's not shit (Nuklear). And C is not a new language. So his point doesn't stand.
>>59483952
I learned BASIC at first.
So?
>>59484416
>C is not a new language
Are you fucking baiting me?
>>59484269
> what is x86 assembly
He will discover what is ABI, how code from different languages and libraries interact, that compilers and operating systems are not "dark magic".
>>59484447
What did he mean by this
>>59484477
What do you mean by "C is not a new language"?
>>59484489
C is an old language. It was made in 1972. It's older than my dad.
>>59483550
In the real world, honestly... C#
>>59484503
And? Where in the picture did I mention "C is a new language"?
>>59484529
You didn't. You asked
> What do you mean by "C is not a new language"?
and I answered. I also might add that by judging your reading comprehension you might be retarded. Severely.
Assembly, because if you can code in assembly, you can code in every other language
Plus its extremely beginner friendly
>>59484553
No you claimed "C is not a new language" and therefore my "point doesn't stand" proceeded by calling a library "shit"
