Should I install Arch or Gentoo? I've been using Windows 7 for 8 years and want to change.

>>59474893
Arch, Gentoo is a meme for people that want to compile everything and don't value time.
>>59474983

Debian is the master race
>>59475026

>>59475020
Time compiling, mongoloid. And where did you get the impression I'm an SJW?
>>59474893
No, don't install gentoo or arch if you don't know command line. I'd recommend you Manjaro or Antegros.
>>59475159
>compiling
Arch is a binary distro. You don't have to compile everything like with gentoo.
>>59474893
Why not both?
>tfw using ryzen
>tfw can compile everything blazing fast
>tfw can switch between distros with two key strokes
>tfw can if i must launch win7 in less than 3 sec and do my childish needs
>>59475223
Exactly, that is why I recommend to NOT install Gentoo
>>59475239
I thought you meant both Arch and Gentoo requires compiling everything.

Arch is a good distribution to start, if you're willing to learn.
Gentoo is a terrible distribution to start, unless you're a hardcore masochist.
I have one Gentoo (on my main workhorse at home) and a bunch of Arch (in other devices), but I do this shit for a living, and I've been using Linux as my main system since 2000.
Gentoo is actually useful and used by companies like Google (ChromeOS).
Arch is just a meme. It's only convenient for it's maintainers, not the users.
