First laptop ran XP, but my first desktop was Win98SP2 with USB support. I didn't like Vista all too much due to numerous bug problems, and switched to Ubuntu when it was still shit when xOrg wasn't in the late old stages, but was marinated. Then Windows 10 rolled along after all the fun and I lost all my damn patience. Borked two hard drives on upgrade and I learned of Linux and Stallman. I went back to Linux and now love free software, as well as being a pot smoking moron.

There is no system but GNU, and weed helps me understand it more.

My mom doesn't even use the laptop anymore, it's just there as a backup for her Android tablet. My dad got his own Windows XP computer after the divorce, so I had access to two XP machine simultaneously, but he rarely used it, it was mainly for me and my brother. Stepmom had a Windows 98 computer when my dad got remarried. Now they have a Windows 7 machine I believe, never used it. She uses it for work mainly so I doubt she'd let me install Ubuntu on it.

No way around this: either he is a /v/-tier consumerist or he can't write clearly.

win 2k on a sony vaio, then xp on a dell latitude and a bunch of shit slow linux vms, then a windows 8 toshiba satellite which has been raped by every distro on the block, then i built my own pc with 8.1 and whatever linux i wanna wet my dick with because im still distro hopping because nothing ever just fucking works no matter how hard i try. i had a comfy as fuck i3 thing goin on that laptop for a while and then the manjaro devs decided to chmod the entirety of every drive and partition so that nothing was readable. thanks manjaro. pro tip if it looks usable and its based on arch then its too good to be true.

Still occasionally try out a different distro, but usually don't use it past ricing for a few days.

Also tried Arch and Windows 10 for one day each and hated them. I've tried nearly every other OS I could find in VMs but never like any enough to install them on the bare metal. I still use Mavericks to shitpost, but on everything else I use Debian with MATE.

And for phones I used iOS from 3.1-7.1.2. Then I switched to a Nexus 5 that has ran 4.4-7.1.1 that I'm currently using.
