>t. wear a helmet a lot.

I think you haven't tried thermal cameras yet. In traffic these are useful to see badly illuminated pedestrians etc and thermal cameras might be mandatory in cars in the near future. No reason not to stay ahead of the curve.

Anyways, I agree that audio processing is a must. In many places including where I work the air is so filthy that I would prefer built in HEPA filters.

Anyone have any guesses on how this works, They claim it is a simple lightweight material and uses to electronics, batteries, etc.

My current running theory is that it uses a very thin side glow fiber optic, sewn front to back to display opposing view from either side. Does anyone have a loom or knitting skills and care to test it for me?

Modifying some game ears either just wearing under helmet or retrofitting into helmet could be useful, enhances sounds within the usual noise/talking range, and muffles noises that are about ~100-140ish db's.

>>
>>59433541
Well I just mentioned it because helmets have good external mounting systems already with quick detach mounts. vision stuff gets kind of heavy and shifts balance. If there is a lot of weight you have to re-adjust your straps really good from the start or it helps undo your chinstrap settings a lot quicker. If you ever want hearing stuff in it's the quickest way to mess up your straps and adjust the helmet in a funky spot that's uncomfortable. This actually made me think of a few useful programs with audio input being analyzed before/while it gets filtered that could be really good with a processor that would be surprisingly useful
>>
>>59435567
They seem to have gotten audiences with defense departments from various nations though and their camo patterns are leased by nations around the world. Their refusal to sell it to civilian markets seems like an interesting sign. If it was really mediocre at best then why not toss it to civvies, we eat that shit up.

Too thin and transmissions go down, especially for infrared. Even if you used fibres you would have the problem of shadowing due to fibres going around the person inside.

So, fall/winter are approaching down here in the souh hemisphere and I want to try my hand at some /cyb/ diy shit.

I was thinking about upgrading an old jacket but I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions? Ideally useful stuff, not just sticking leds and shit.

I've added a tiny magnetised metal piece to the collar, so I can let my earbuds hang from there when I'm not using them.

I've also added a pocket in the right sleeve near the cuff for my city universal RFID travel card, I can now just wave my wrist at the subway entrance and get in.

Any oher cool urban/city type upgrades?

I can understand the neon attraction, but the reality is that neon lighting is way more expensive to produce and requires dangerous high-voltages to operate. A good compromise for anti-LED extremists is EL rope/strip lighting. They, too, use a high excitation voltage, but consume a fraction of the power and have the advantage of being flexible. pic related. Glass/ neon gas BTFO.

There are many meanings, the most common is simply simulating a war between two sides to see which would win given certain starting parameters, and then vary these starting parameters to explore how to best rig a society to win.

Since war is chaotic (mathematically, no pun) you are not expected to derive a simple analytical solution so you have to simulate it through, just like weather forecast.

Thus war games were important in the development of simulation, mathematical modelling, economics and societal development. Think of the Foundation Trilogy, just at a far cruder level.

Yes, basically.

Though the programs
- are absolutely huge
- relies on enormous data sets (such as locations of fuel dumps and amounts)
- relies on enormously diverse data (military, financially, social, cultural, psychological...)
- everything is secret, as these would reveal own weaknesses and those of the enemies
- have impact on financial allocations though reasons would be scarce

As an example: Finnish culture, especially relating to "sisu" brought them victory in the Winter war against Soviet against absolutely all odds.

As a light autist, I have to say there are clear differences between LED, neon, EL, and side emitting fiber optic. Having used all for projects none are the "superior" light, but all have their pros and cons.

If you're into the "rope light" aspect check out side emitting fiber optics. Brighter, use less electricity, and in general easier to work with.

I'm trying to avoid the "leds and random electronics" thing because it's the same as "cogs and pipes" stuff steampunk wannabes do.

Yes, what I've done is boring and it seems more techwear than cyberpunk.

Maybe a lighting system for commuting on a bike? Like you sit on your bike and jack in a small cable that recognises what you're doing (accelerating, braking, turning, riding in the dark) and acts accordingly? a USB cable that's an extension for a hidden USB flash drive and installs a keylogger or something as soon as I jack in?

I don't know man, if I had ideas I would be implementing them. I'm using a de-branded grey jacket inspired by Cayce Pollard btw.

Bumping so youse can answer me this
>>
>>59456651
>which one emits more UV light?
That depends. Most of these are designed to output a specific colour that usually depends on a bandgap property of the material. Shorter wavelength (towards blue and UV) means larger bandgaps, means more difficulties such as power consumption, shorter lifetime of component and higher operating temperatures. So you only get a UV emitter if you specifically design for one and at the top of my head I can only think of very few applications where you want UV emitters. Some examples would be sterilization, photoresist exposure and fluorescence. The latter is teh operating more for "white" LEDs: use a deep blue or UV LED to light up a fluorescent material that in turn emits white light, very much the way fluorescent tubes work. In both cases you get a bit of incidental UV leaked light.

>Not that im paranoid, but I'd like not to bath me unecessarily in UV, or at least know the amount I'm exposed to.
In addition to bleaching clothing and furniture there are also problems if you get too much UV exposure to your eyes.
