screenfetch, or neofetch?
this question is so deep and profound, it deserves its own thread
>>59428973
Neofetch might be botnet, but I like the look better
>>59428973
What's the functional difference? They both display stats in a ricer-ish manner. One is pushed by ledditors, the other from archfags.
>>59428993
One you can rice more, at the expense of installing a dozen extra dependencies
>>59428992
why not just copy the look into screenfetch?
>>59428973
neofetch shows more things than screenfetch.
>>59429028
You can't do fancy things like adding pictures and checking the weather
>>59429083
>>59429090
Your neofetch looks weird
>>59429090
Some neofetch examples look similar to this:
>>59429102
why
> only caring about the logo
Screenfetch is complete crap when it comes to configuration.
Neofetch is way better when it comes to this point, but it's kinda bloat.
>>59430278
It looks just like sceeenfetch
neofetch is for redditors
just use screenfetch
screenfetch because it's in the arch repos and i'm not going to install a foreign package for it.
>>59429133
What is this font?
>>59429133
how do you display the image instead of logo?
>>59430568
looks like tewi
https://github.com/Lucy/tewi-font
>>59428973
been waiting for someone to make this thread
neofetch is much better, i find. More detailed/correct info, better ascii images, and uses a tad less ram, I noticed.
Also the screenfetch ascii for ubuntu is ugly as fuck.
>>59430653
yeah, second for this, no guides seem to show how to do it. I've been hoping to try.
I know you need the w3m-img package to allow images in the terminal but there isn't any instruction on how to set an image as the logo.
>>59430568
>>59430747
That looks nothing like tewi, it's lemon by phallus
>>59430798
>Install w3m, imagemagick, and curl.
>copy the example config file on neofetch's github to .config/neofetch/config
>edit that config to output images using w3m instead of ascii
If you have any other questions RTFM. This shit is babby tier easy people come on.
>>59431027
>install some shit
okay
>copy example config file, etc
you lost me. what the fuck
>>59431049
Do you not know how to copy and past an example text file? Are you literally that fucking retarded?
>>59431027
which terminal do I need to display images? will it work with xfce-terminal?
>>59431141
Yes
>>59431049
neo /g/
>>59431049
RIP /g/
I want neofetch once it reaches Debian Stable in a few months.
Also here's the author of neo fetch explaining why it exists
https://github.com/dylanaraps/neofetch/wiki/Neofetch-vs-Screenfetch
>TL;DR: Screenfetch is poorly written and not in active development.
>>59431465
lel, ofc the developer of project a wants to show why project b isn't good
is this your first day in tech at all?
>>59428973
inxi
>>59431465
compile from source, maybe?
>>59434396
It's in testing. I'm just not that inclined to grab it.

I understand that he has a bias, but he also provided evidence. I've had to debug screenfetch myself (problem handling my CPU freq) and it is a fucking mess to deal with.
