What do you do with old laptops that aren't obsolete but you have no immediate use for?
I have a duplicate Thinkpad Yoga I've been using as a thing to connect to my TV and watch videos on but I'm switching to a Chromecast since it would be more intuitive. Now I'll have a spare thing I don't know what to do with but I feel like I could make some kind of use out of it

note, I have another laptop and a desktop already so I'm wondering what kind of secondary use it can be for

Put it in your server rack.
Use it to try out linux distros
Use them as media servers.

I mainly just use it to browse my other computers running plex to cast anything on any of my computers. I get a warm feeling when I cast a recorded lecture from my laptop to my chromecast from a different computer altogether.

>buying more than 1 laptop
???????
I generally find someone who needs a laptop and either sell it to them or give it to them (depending on whether its worth anything or not)
but I rarely end up with spares anyway

>buy laptop
>use it for several years
>actually have a job and enough disposable income that buying a new laptop isn't a big deal
>buy new laptop for better specs, a better screen, generally a better experience
A few hundred dollars every few years isn't that big a deal if you're not on NEETbux.
