>Fall for meme, install gentoo
>Spend all day compiling necessities
>No productive work done
>Reasons I'm a fucking NEET
What's your excuse, Gentoo users?
>>59422061
It just werks:
>Solid package management
>USE flags (Blessing)
>Solid drivers
>Stable as a brick house
>Fun(too)
install gentoo
>set up obscure cflags
>install gentoo
>nobody can ever rop you again
Use the desktop profile, preferably the systemd one.
Use genkernel --nconfig
Use google-chrome-stable or firefox-bin
Once its working just stop, you really don't need to update it.

I used to like Gentoo, but I have become a little turned off from it in recent years. The package manager Portage is a complex bloated piece of shit (so is Paludis) and you can't customize everything like you would expect, such removing bash. You also can't yet change glibc. I prefer Alpine Linux instead.
>>59422075
is funtoo less annoying than gentoo?
>>59422061
install gentoo
>>59424054
More annoying. I install with funtoo and then just use pure gentoo everything. The only advantage is the debian-sources.
>Whats your excuse
Most of the time I have at least 1 extra core I can use to update in the background.
>>59422532
desktop profile is bloated as fuck, wouldnt suggest
>>59422061
Update time is 15 minutes every month and I can keep using my computer as if nothing is happening. Second largest repos along with unrivaled stability and security is killer.

package.provided
I dont compile things often because I program so all I need is a compiler, browser, some file utilities and vim. I got all that done in one weekend and since then have just done a kernel update once in a while.

I ran it for 3 months then went back to Ubuntu LTS w/ HSE. 16.04.2 is damn good stuff.
I'm trying to sperg less about privacy. I don't use the G though.

Dropped.
