Is it just me or is it really hard to read and interpret code?
I can write complex, clean and efficient code, but I take a long time to really assimilate what an algorithm does, even if variables are well named.
It's like I have poor brain RAM but a good CPU.
Read more code. Suffering is progress.

Just work at a company where they maintain old Perl/PHP/C spaghetti code. You'll either be dead or a code reading god at the end.

I know that feel. Colleagues can trace an execution line with their mind, thinking about all the objects (OOP) and such. I just get lost midway and have to draw everything on paper.
Its just you.

Depends on the kind of code. perl is infamous for making it easy to write once, read never. enterprise java can easily be unreadable without IDE support due to the logic being spread over many layers of indirections.
