Also 1050 ti if you have a weak power supply, since it's cheap and should be enough for 1080p60fps in all but the most demanding titles, or rx 470 since it'll perform much better for a relatively small price difference.

An overclocked 880k should be ahead of a haswell i3 in multithread workloads pretty easily, like dx12.

Yeah iirc 880k is just a better binned 860k as far as I can tell.

Yeah should be fine for a 7950, but a bit more headroom would have been preferable. Worst case scenario you just tweak power settings in wattman to shave a few watts off though.

Athlon 880k+hd7950 or rx470 should be a very potent budget system imo.

Especially now that games are actually utilising 4 threads.

i use linfucks if that helps. I see the rx470 is better, but i really only boot into windows to play Total War, which runs on Linux but something in the multiplayer lets you play vs people who run the same OS as you. So Windows user can play vs Windows users, Max vs Mac, and Linux vs Linux. I imagine it would take 5 years in the lobby to finally find another dude on Linux, heh.
