It's way more enjoyable to work on.
It just works. No really, I have far fewer issues than I do on Windows.
I've never encountered any software that was significantly worse.

I still reboot for games that don't work and OpenCL, but for the most part there's just no reason to.

Coding mostly. Linux is the best development environment. Best customizability to match your workflow as well. For caj it's fine (Ubuntu, ElmentaryOS, etc) for youtube/facebook/etc.

Windows is obviously better for games, because they have money to push that agenda so that it keeps making them money. don't be an idiot.

You don't have to use one system or another. I'll never understand the question "why should I choose this over this". Especially when one in this case (linux) doesn't cost anything. It's not like you spent all your money and don't have anymore to spend and are just stuck with a life of exclusive windows use.

There is an ideology behind linux but you don't have to exclusively adopt it to use it. You can use accupuncture and then go to an MD for something. You can own a fixed gear bicycle and a ten speed and a semi truck and a rickshaw. You don't have to have just one thing.

Am I able to shut linux down in a way it saves everything that I am doing, move over to windows 7/10 play my games, then move back to linux like I had never left it in the first place?

More and more I'm looking to linux and thinking, if it just plays videos well, and runs a web browser without shitting itself, I could probably switch.

But my main issue is I never want to shut down to dual boot, and gpu pass through without being able to use 1 gpu split resources is not a viable option due to all the bullshit and compatibility.

If I could just save everything where it is, shut down blaa blaa, restart and everything is as it was, un fucked with, that would get me to dual boot at least.
