Planning on getting a Chromebook to use pretty exclusively for
>writing
>remotely accessing my desktop at home
I want something rugged and with decent speakers and screen as I will want to watch movies on it as well. Main focus is durability and battery life as I will be using it very portably and carrying it in a backpack with me all over
I think I want it fairly small (11"-13" prob) and if it can fold into a tablet thats a plus, but not at the cost of battery life or keyboard
is there a good list/guide of all the chromebooks so I can make the best choice?
I have a Lenovo n22 and I upgraded the screen to an IPS one myself (it's really easy). I'd say buying a cheap Chromebook with a TN screen, and spending ~$50 on an IPS screen, is the cheapest way to get one that's good for media consumption.
Anyways, here's the list. https://zipso.net/chromebook-specs-comparison-table/
the asus chromebook flip or the acer r11
both have amazing battery life and are pretty durable
thanks for the input

I tend to like lenovo's durability on their laptops, heavily considering the lenovo 11e or n23

Acer r11 looks neat, ive heard great things about it but it does look a bit 'glossy' for my taste. ill probably head to a best buy and see if they have one on display first to see how it feels

You're not going to get good build quality on a Chromebook unless you're buying one of the ones that costs as much as a real laptop. My n22 came with an uneven track pad. It's not a huge deal, it just sticks up slightly higher on one side, but still. I only chose this one because it has a matte plastic build that doesn't show scratches easily, the keyboard is spill resident (haven't tested that), and it has a handle built it. But overall, the thing is definitely cheaply assembled plastic. It's not a problem if you go into it knowing that though.
Get a hold of better hardware then put chromium on it.
