None of these really "destroyed" the competition like you probably think it did.
First-generation Athlons were only good for the first few speed grades, the ones making it to 1 GHz did so using slow cache running at 1/3 of the CPU clock, absolute fucking garbage.
Thunderbird was very competitive, Durons were a fantastic value, but in the end the differences weren't all that great.
Same deal with the Athlon XP. With any gain they made Intel could simply raise clocks to match them, the Athlon MP was also a pathetic as a server/workstation chip.
K8 was the real golden age, it pushed the industry forward and was a fantastic value, even if it was a little lackluster in the end when Core2 came out against it.

In the end, if you were given either line you wouldn't have a bad time. Millions of people around the world got the job done on both. I'm tired of retards trying to always push this "poor AMD" victim narrative bullshit and wish you faggots would just see shit for what it was.
