>mfw I'm going in blind without him. In the end I don't know what works.

Can you guide me /biz/? I have a few graphics cards I could buy, but I need to make sure they're compatible with my CPU and motherboard, which I don't know exactly how it works.
I'm working with a toaster here. I have both a Q9550 and a Xeon 5472 CPU resting on my desk. I have a motherboard which only supports ddr2, I don't know if MBs have a clock frequency and a specific criteria to fit with the other hardware pieces.
I'm working with a supposed 550W power supply.

I'm looking at a few graphics cards and I don't know which will work best for my toaster.
4GB, 2GB, 1GB DDR3 128-bit
2GB DDR5 128-bit
I was also looking at some 64 bit cards, but I don't think they'll survive very long.
>>
I also have the option to buy a 1GB DDR5 128 bit. But I can't seem to find anything at 192bits

They're GT730 cards, most of them are from MSI and Gigabyte, plus one of them is from Asus.
>>
Alot of the numbers you're giving us are irrelevant. The graphics card will work. I'm assuming you're not doing any gaming?

What is it you plan on doing, let's work around that

I want to be able to watch videos in 1080p without lagging.

I want to play Paragon and Warframe on slightly higher settings.
I want to be able to livestream a few non-demanding games without having OBS crash on me and having to reset every option for each game.

So far my PC is fast for menial tasks, but it's lacking some power and I don't have the cash to change my entire rig.

I can play most games in 2011-2014 on minimum or on a smaller resolution, it's just that my Radeon often crashes. Could also be from my ram chips, but my HD5640 is definitely overheating and crashing on specific games even when they were made before 2006. Roblox, Guild Wars, Aliens Vs Predator to name a few. Might be a problem with the shaders.
