So I'm trying to install debian on my old Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop but when the installer tells me to select a wifi network the menu just loops, I select my wifi and enter the correct WPA/WPA2 PSK key and then it just goes back to the wifi select screen again. Anyone know a fix for this ornshould I just use a cable?

you chose non-graphical installing instead graphical installing, so probably it wasn't remind you to install specific wireless driver
here my suggestion
reboot
in install screen, choose graphic install
in detect network menu, let it inform you the specific wireless driver for it
download it in another pc, save it in another flashdisk
add the flashdisk with specific driver that you've been downloaded before.
Now back to detect network menu, it will get the specific driver by itself

I have the firmware it askes for, non free for the wifi, added to my install and it detects it and I have agree to the license. Tried using the graphical install and I got the same problem the menu just loops.
