Hey /g/.
I was dreading the day Windows 10 would break on me again and that day has come. Today Windows installed an update without asking me a thing (I'm now on build 15048 - Windows 10 Education Evaluation copy) and start menu has stopped working ever since. I have no system backups apparently and already tried reinstalling Windows apps on Powershell to no avail.
Right now I'm trying sfc /scannow to see if that can save me.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for contacting /g/ tech support, please hold.

Follow the next steps:
>Format an USB drive
>Put Windows 7, 8.1, a Linux distro, or hackintosh on it
>Format your system drive
>Install one of these operating systems
Trust me, that will fix your problem
Today Windows installed an update without asking me a thing
That's a main feature of windows 10. Users no longer have control over any updates. Your computer is the property of Microsoft now it doesn't matter what you want.
If you use windows 10, it's like telling your crush that you will eat her shit while she's sucking someone else's cock.

You can still disable Windows Update.

You could have prevented this
>use services.msc and taskschd.msc
You asked for this
It's over

That actually did work, doesn't fix things like calendar or desktop button in the taskbar, but still useful. Thanks

Why are you not on Enterprise LTSB with no forced updates?

No idea, I just hope a new update comes around soon enough though and gets this thing fixed.

Don't think that's gonna happen dude. Back up your data, burn the correct iso, and reformat.
Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC
First save your docs somewhere.
