Phone software was made with high DPI screens in mind. Lots of desktop programs aren't DPI aware so increasing DPI just makes them smaller and once you get high enough DPI they become unreadable without scaling which makes them blurry as shit.

I don't do any professional photo or video editing, I'm not a gamer, and there are like no 4k movies or TV shows I want to see (or give up hard drive space for). High PPI is good on the eyes. Reading stuff is much easier on 200 PPI than it is on 100.
