unfortunately they cant go out of business. intel needs them to fend off anti trust

so you see a lot of intel shadow money flowing into the "company" to keep them "viable"

Those companies were at war, even as far as terrorist strikes against each other.

Several sites have tested AMD Ryzen's performance and found several inconsistencies with the established narrative that it cannot game well.

Eteknix tested it with the 1080 Ti and found that performance actually improved to beyond Intel's on the exact same GPU, ruling out the GPU masking inferior performance. I'll just compare the 7700K to Ryzen's octocores and leave out Doom, which is apparently capped at 200 FPS.

http://www.eteknix.com/nvidia-gtx-1080-ti-cpu-showdown-i7-7700k-vs-ryzen-r7-1800x-vs-i7-5820k/

Hardware Canucks benchmark here:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, DX12, 1080p:
Core i7 7700K: 64.99.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 60.92.

Eteknix performance:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, 1080p, Ultra, MSAA Off:
Core i7 7700K: 68.0 min, 91.1 avg.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 64.4 min, 112.3 avg.

Tom's Hardware benchmark here:

Hitman (2016), 1080p, Ultra:
Core i7 7700K: 58.0 min, 106.3 avg.
Ryzen 7 1800X stock: 53.0 min, 91.7 avg.
Ryzen 7 1800X no SMT: 54.0 min, 96.7 avg.

Eteknix performance:

Hitman, 1080p, Ultra:
Core i7 7700K: 55.0 min, 120.0 avg.
Ryzen 7 1800X stock: 56.9 min, 120.0 avg.
Ryzen 7 1800X @ 4.1 GHz: 80 min, 130.0 avg.

Guru3D benchmarks here:

Rise of the Tomb Raider, 1080p:
Core i7 7700K: 132.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 114.
Note: Core i7 6900K FPS is 137 here. Indicative of subpar AMD Ryzen architecture optimization.

Far Cry Primal, DX11, 1080p:
Core i7 7700K: 108.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 93.
Note: Core i7 6900K FPS is 100 here. Once again indicative of subpar AMD Ryzen architecture optimization.

Eteknix performance:

Rise of the Tomb Raider, 1080p, Very High:
Core i7 7700K: 76.0 min, 159.0 avg.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 105.0 min, 174.6 avg.
Ryzen 7 1800X @ 4.1 GHz: 120 min, 182.1 avg.

Far Cry Primal, 1080p, Ultra:
Core i7 7700K: 73.0 min, 106.0 avg.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 57.0 min, 82.0 avg.
Ryzen 7 1800X @ 4.1 GHz: 60.0 min, 88.0 avg.

Yeah, I know, not the most carefully-assembled benchmark comparison, but in these games, AMD went from losing to winning, except in Doom and Ubisoft's Far Cry Primal.

Jesus christ people its the scheduler, it throws a thread at a logical core thinking its a physical one, killing performance, at times it does not, showing proper performance.

That's why you're getting inconsistent numbers games aren't static like blender is.
>>
ZoLKoRn, a Thai website, tested Ryzen with one of its two CCXes offline, bringing it down to 4-core/8-thread, and found performance so drastically improved that core-for-core, clock-for-clock, Ryzen's performance was very close to the 7700K's.

http://www.zolkorn.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-7-1800x-vs-intel-core-i7-7700k-mhz-by-mhz-core-by-core/3/

Rise of the Tomb Raider 1080p, Very High, DX12:
Core i7 7700K: 119.15/94.41/100.9 with 105.42 overall.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 117.31/91.74/84.24, with 97.96 overall.

Tom Clancy's The Division, 1080p, Ultra Preset, DX11:
Core i7 7700K: 102.9 FPS.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 100.2 FPS.

Far Cry Primal, 1080p, Ultra Preset, DX11:
Core i7 7700K: 73 minimum, 103 average, 130 max.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 61 minimum, 91 average, 113 max.

Grand Theft Auto V, 1080p, Very High, 4xMSAA, DX11:
Core i7 7700K: 112.99 FPS.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 110.68 FPS.

Battlefield 1, 1080p, Ultra Preset, DX11:
Core i7 7700K: 99 minimum, 119.1 average, 132 max.
Ryzen 7 1800X: 95 minimum, 109.4 average, 135 max.

Testers on Anandtech forums also discovered that Ryzen performs noticeably better on Windows 7 than on Windows 10 in Total War: Warhammer despite a lack of official support. Total War: Warhammer is another game where AMD is somewhat behind Intel.

https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/ryzen-strictly-technical.2500572/page-8#post-38775732

Combine this with what we know about AMD's performance outside of games, and what we know about W10's scheduler problem with Ryzen, and it's pretty safe to conclude that once some software updates have come and gone, Ryzen will actually perform quite well, even in gaming, and especially in newer titles. And we know that Microsoft is already working on a fix for the problem. This also means that when the cheaper hexcore and quadcore CPUs launch later this year, the price to performance ratios should be pretty high. Sorry, folks, looks like Ryzen might actually not suck after all.

Eat the false benchmarks up and think they are getting superior perfomance.

What is so hard to understand about this? People are too fucking stupid to look for non-biased reviews, or do testing themselves. They buy into the marketing bs from companies with no research. I was personally influenced to buy P4 (aka netburst) instead of AMD after reading 2 reviews that by all means and for ethics purposes should have been disclosed as paid advertisement. Nowadays it's the same old shit only transdpalnted online or in video format.

It took me a good while to even get buyers remorse then, and I only left denial when it was about to upgrade once more.

If you think that deep pockets can't influence the press your beyond salvation. And it's not all about money, most journalists simply feel timid and feeble against giant corps and dare not provoke them; of course you'll scourge up that couple guys who had always bashed intel back from the early 2000's and onwards, but they're the exception, the rule have always been well behaved lill shills that will bend over over any excessive request from their overlords.

the problem is when the "research" is misleading. If you have never bought anything inferior to its competition thinking you were acting upon on a well informed deliberation, then i'll envy you quite a bit.

specially if you have only english at your disposal
cross referencing youtube with written sources kind of helps, but you have to dig deep to get any real info

mind you that this back in the day when the sheer cost of purchasing 2 imported english publications was quite a chunk from my 16 year old allowance delivered in 3rd world currency.

I had to pay to get fucking shilled - fuck, I didn't thought of that til just now.

What is intels excuse for having a socket change for almost every new cpu? I feel as if a 1700 now is better because I can upgrade 4 years down the line with AMD.

http://www.legitreviews.com/one-motherboard-maker-explains-why-amd-am4-boards-are-missing_192470

Intel shat on AMD's parade without even meaning to. To come out of inertia does take a lot of effort.
>Also, in January and February, all board vendors’ production lines were occupied with Intel 200 series boards before Chinese New Year and tried to ship as much boards as we can to ensure we won’t have stock issues while Asia was on New Year vacation.
(transl. we never really gave a rats ass to whatevs AMD was doin').
>>
>>59337098
gotta prioritize what comes out first
>>
>>59337098
>In general, it’s been too long for AMD to launch a new CPU, so they forgot how to do it, so they launched the CPU just like they were launching the graphics card. They didn’t care about the platform eco-system, so the eco-system is suffering and stock is delayed.
(transl. I'm an Asus ROG team engineer, you know, A-S-U-S R-O-G, I'm a lill bitch that hates AMD and its tots their fuck up to make me work this close to the holidays. All of the issues plaguing Ryzen's launch that under our complete control and direct responsability have nothing to with us. We good bitches. AMD bad. sigh~)
>>
>>59337170
no wonder ASUS boards were the worst
>>
>>59337098
>>59337170
>We are flying in new batches every 3 days to try to fulfill the back orders ASAP, so they should be all back in stock soon. With all the board reviews released, per Newegg and Amazon, the AMD memory limitation issue is slowing down the sales though.
(transl. Seriously, now we're doing overtime trying to have a consumer base that was surprisingly way higher than our queen-bitch was expecting not hate us to our bankrupcy, and fuck AMD, who they think they are, Intel? Shit I had to cancel my manicure twice since this launch. And the bios revision are still shit partially copy pasted from the glorious z270 code. This is not our, technically we're the ones doing it, but it's AMD fault. I'll say again A-M-D, why couldn't they have launched somethign more similar to intel, now we have to work for real. Do they take me to be an fresh out of college intern? argh~)
>>
>>59329382

>>

>the AMD memory limitation issue is slowing down the sales though.
everyone blames motherboard manufacturers though, is he in fantasy world?
>>
>>59337098

one motherboard vendor shits on their launch this badly, they'll fuck it up sideways till complete anihilation in such a horrible way that their former employees will become thankful when they finally can fade out into oblivion, peacefully.

>be AMD
every single motherboard vendors fucks it up.
well, that's just... what do?

That off-the-record fag is unarguably a lill bitch trying to shift blame in order to save her own delicately thin neck, if I ever saw one.
>>
>>59337098
Summary: WHY IS AMD BEING COMPETITIVE AGAIN THIS ONLY INCREASES MY WORKLOAD REEEEE
>>
>>59337254
I said asus because I'm picture them to be faggier than the others. But the contact is most likely from MSI, it gets glaringly obvious at the end of the article)
>>
>>59337535
Lets just hope MSI has gotten somewhat competent again with their VRM designs. Their AMD boards had a very well-earned reputation for going up in flames at the slightest provocation.
>>
>>59330893
>>59330981
P67 owner here, launch board fried my hdd, had to mail it back. SATA 3 fucked.
Get new B3 revision, front panel USB 3.0 still not working right (as of WIN 10 front not working at all). No display after sleep issues until many updates later. GPU compatibility problems.

I hated it.
>>
>>59337098
the best thing out of this article was that everyone was assuming that the Titanium boards had a bclk gen - probably simply because it was more expensive than the Aorus and Taichi. It's there in all letters for all too see that it doesn't.

There's literally no reason to justify purchasing the most expensive AM4 Mobo now.
>>
>>59337612
asrock apparently good now, going to look b350 way at it first
>>
>>59329382
Someone add kosher sign next to intel stake
>>
I swear this anti-AMD posting is drastically more offensive than the pro-AMD
>>
and finally compare to the tone from AMD's guy

>“Obviously, there are different options to enable overclocking; multi and voltage adjustment, also reference clock. One of the ways the MB guys can differentiate their product lines is the inclusion of ref clock adjustment. With X370, B350, and X300 all offering overclocking the ODMs want to differentiate their product lines. Now that the MB guys see how beneficial and desirable ref clock adjustment is, I expect all the motherboard makers to release models to stay competitive.

(transl. no harm done, they'll get to it eventually) [but he sounds like that because it's a freaking mine field and he knows that he's a small dog that really should keep his head a bit low among the other dogs that are almost as big, if not bigger, than he himself].
>>
>>59337653
Yes, surprisingly enough ASRock has gotten their shit together and has gone from a shit-tier board manufacturer between ECS and BioStar to someone competent. Gigabyte on the otherhand has gone to shit. Shame too, their LGA 1366 and 775 boards were some of the best in the biz.
>>
>>59337629
>had a bclk gen
apparently you don't need it for RAM OC
ryzen has internal module that does it according to Stilt
high end boards are useless for ryzen if you don't need much I/O

https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/ryzen-strictly-technical.2500572/page-16
>>
>>59337708
do you think motherboard guys angry at AMD for cheap chipsets they make lesser margins off or happy for cheap chipsets that they make higher margins off?
>>
>>59337765
it's said that their profit margins are higher on AM4 boards than on intel. The Taichi is a perfect example, being at 200 dollars for both Am4 and z270. There's no royalties for thunderbolt or other propietary things, crossfire/sli or other minor trademarks are par for the course already, and the boards themselves are simpler since most of the i/o has migrated into the cpu. They undoubtely can make more on the Am4, in this case.
>>
>>59334221
Moving the goalposts as always

Just wait until the next release you guys, THEN AMD will blow Intel away!

And if it doesnt, surely the one after that will do the trick!
>>
>>59337889
>forgetting Nehalem
At least fucking try, Ramesh.
>>
>>59337765
>>59337887
another one, optane has already been licensed for the z270. More cost in royalties. Can't recall of what else now, though.
>>
>>59337713
Even if you don't really need it (or it may be proven further down the road that it's actually worse to have them taking control from the cpu), the mobos that had it stood apart from the flock.

through refined code or better hardware, it stands to getter good improvements. let's face it, they set the bar real low in this launch. Fine Wine will become an undying meme after this.

Gamer dudes, dudettes. When it comes to keeping your CPU at peak performance, oh the games people play. REALLY. A lot of you game assassins seem to think that Intel alone is gonna get you to the victory lane, as you go leaping from level to level, room to room, and world to world! With little or no Shilling.

>Asus released a new bios today that doesn't brick its boards.

tots AMD fault guise.
They're total hacks who can't put out a product that can't handle the most basic tasks which they are supposed to perform. Take the brand new Asus Crosshair VI, for instance, with our patented EZ bios utility flash, upgrading your bios have never been easier. All you need to do is... not brick it in the process. And we don't. not anymore. We think. Fuck AMD, I swear. We'll get back after we hit our forums to run a new batch os statistical analisys on bitching customers and we'll let you know if it worked this time around. Bye for now.
