If you're going to keep the rest of the system for a while / until motherboard capacitors or something fail then just get some cheap used card from a system of that area.

Perhaps something like RX460 if you want to buy a new one or a similar light "cheaper" card from Nvidia.

Honestly, if I was on a 1090T and in your situation and my budget was limited to one high-end graphics then I'd probably get a new CPU/motherboard/RAM instead of a graphics card.

Well replacing the system entirely is very tempting, since I know even getting a modern i3 would be a performance boost in most scenarios. I was originally planning to hold out on a new system until at least next year though because I am wanting to reduce debt as much as possible this year.

Get any PCI-express graphic cards that will show you the resolution your screen is capable of showing.

The Geforce GT 710 1GB memory version could be a great choice. It's the absolutely least powerful of a later series of Nvidia GPUs, I think it was released early 2016 or something like that. You should be able to get a new one for $30 or so. You can alternatively get something which works for $10-20 or the same price used.

Forget about upgrading your system for now.

GET OUT OF DEBT.

There will be new computers and graphics cards next year too. Stick to your plan.

I've personally managed to get out of debt. I don't have any. It feels great. This is what you should prioritize. If you have to live with some weak graphics card that actually works but barely runs games for a while then fine, do that.

Keep this in mind:
It is so much easier to save up for things when you have no debt, perhaps more so when you've just got out of debt and isn't used to have as much of your income to spend as you suddenly do.

Get out of debt and then .. Just save the amount you were previously using to pay off your debt and you'll be able to buy a much better computer.

It does bottleneck, but depends on the CPU usage.

Could play Battlefield 1 in the singleplayer on ultra, no problem, but as soon as I went into a multiplayer match it became unplayable.

My gtx 460 that i've had since like 2010 died last year, i wanted to fucking have a funeral for it and give it a proper burial because i got the thing for christmas and it was so perfect

they're probably the most valuable cards
