There is LITERALLY no reason to buy powerful desktops and laptops anymore. Just buy a $115 Intel Compute Stick and offload all performance-intensive workloads to the cloud.
Nice, can it play games at 4K over 60fps?

>gaymen
you need to be 18+ to post here
>>59325421
can it host my collection of nudes?
>>59325421
Can it run crysis?
>>59325630
>hurr durr gayming is for children
Fuck off, faggot.
What is the end game of this?
Everyone will just have a thin client in their house and actual computing power will become another means of production owned by the 1%?
>>59325606
>gaymes
grow up
>>59325630
So let me get this straight. Games are only for 18 and under right? Not everyone sucks dick at gaming like you kiddo

Lastly here's your (You)
>>59325683
Retarded people only used desktop computers because it was all there was. Now they can be retarded with just smartphones and tablets. We'll still have HEDT to do actual work.

It's the entirety of resources of all of google's mainframes and datacenters.
It can play games at 512K 2880FPS in 48 bit color

>There is LITERALLY no reason to buy powerful personal computers anymore. Just buy a terminal and and offload all performance-intensive workloads to the mainframe.
Reminder that we are regressing
>>59325727
They'll charge a premium for these resources though.
>>59325715
>actual work
More and more of which is done on clusters of ASICs, FPGAs, and GPGPU software. Literally all of the big cloudy companies (Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.) use custom silicon these days.
Face it, geezer; personal workstations are headed straight into the dustbin of history.
>>59325788
And these cloud companies also make money out of your data. Enjoy your panopticon.
>>59325421
Yeah I'll give all my shit to random wankers I know nothing about, not even where they are, so they can do what they want with it without my knowledge. Great thinking there Sherlock.
>>59325680
lol, manchildren

>hurr durr pee see master race
jesus fuck, I hate those idiots.
What idiot kid thought it would be a great idea to format the drive, gut the parts, and throw them away? reddit is fucking with the minds of the next-generation to new bounds.
>>59325421
This sorta stuff is the future. Most of us already use virtual machines for work.
My work machine is a 8 year old i3 I think, 12 GB of RAM for chrome and there is no reason to upgrade.
Anything that needs speed goes on a xen machine.
Honest a computer or a arm soc would be ideal, only issue is no one makes one with dual screen support.
>>59325835
You can do what most companies with a clue do and run xen or kvm or if your lazy and rich VMware
It's just far cheaper and more flexible to do this.
>>59326909
oh right, pic related, it's the original parts
>on a carpet
You know what the idiot put in? A fucking i3 and 1050ti.
>>59326986
It's really only the HDD that was important the rest is just collector value.
I still question the story , I suspect it was a troll.

FUCK YOUUUUU I LEFT /v/ TO ESCAPE FROM THIS SHIT AND YOU BRING IT HERE
>>59327122
there is a reddit post by his dad years ago selling the damn thing for $50 and nobody taking it due to the weakass hardware, this was the pic used in that thread
>>59327184
the HDD was definitely wiped years ago in prep for the sale, then
>>59327184
>going off topic with this
Oh come on anon, everyone here already knows what the cloud is.
Anyways, his reason that his dad put it up on some niche subreddit and nobody took it is invalid. Why would you put it up on some random sub versus eBay or emulation forums where people actually monitor shit?
>>59327192
nope just go do the research and you'll realize the kid fucked up
>>59325421
It's really not all that much cheaper, it doesn't support a whole pile of use cases and the loss of convenience is dramatic. Go away shill.
>fucking huge latency
No, thanks.
can it run windows xp pinball
>>59325421
Yes, good goy, put all your data in the cloud where you have no legal reasonable expectation of privacy and have no control over what's done with it
>>59325788
No they aren't.
>>59326986
>just a generic pentium 3 + geforce 3
I wonder what the dev software was, are there any other sources for disk images?
>>59325421
Google Cloud is only free for like 60 days. GTFO
>>59325729
The thought alone is enough to get my blood boiling at this point.
