/g/ i'm really torn between a 1070 and a 1080. The price difference isn't that big, but neither is the performance difference. I do plan on playing on larger resolutions and i want to invest on a GPU that will run games on high settings for the next 3-4 years, so i'm leaning towards the 1080. Whad you you guys think?
RX 480 for ~$180
Upgrade in 3-4 years for ~$180 to something 10x faster
1070 OCs almost exactly to the level of stock 1080.
The price difference doesn't justify the small performance difference in my opinion.
Either get the 1070 or the 1080Ti.
1080 is a waste of money.

even after the recent price drop?

But what if i REALLY dislike overclocking because i live in a very hot place

Get a 1080. The good EVGA ACX model was around 518 € some days ago. I really hate myself that I bought a 1070 FTW in December for 476 €, I wish they allowed me to Step-Up, but Step-Up only counts prices on the EVGA shop site.
If you plan to play in 4K you'll need even more than a 1080. My 1070 @2139/4480 MHz barely maintains 60 FPS in BF1, 80 - 100 % usage.

Like every x80 Nvidia card. They always do this shit
>hey guys here's our strongest gpu to date
>everyone buys it
>lol jk, here's the Ti version, it's even better
>btw the previous x80 is now 200 bucks cheaper :^)

Normally yes, I would have bought the 1080 but won't pay 720 € for it, these are Ti prices.
Now X80s have reached normal pricing. I would not buy cheap models, but if you can get a EVGA model for 50 € more I would do it.
I'm going to skip the Ti and buy the GV104 FTW model once its out.

Just don't drop it.
Is the flagship pascal 1080 worth it? I fear of overheating, but I'd like to buy from a local best buy. We have Frys here, but I don't trust their return policies.

Did it survive?

get a hybrid card

Everything but the motherboard I believe.

I wonder if that was staged.
>lol linus drops stuff alot XD XD XD XD XD
