Install TempleOS - Edition

We are fucked!

https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/index.html

"Today, Tuesday 7 March 2017, WikiLeaks begins its new series of leaks on the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. Code-named "Vault 7" by WikiLeaks, it is the largest ever publication of confidential documents on the agency.

The first full part of the series, "Year Zero", comprises 8,761 documents and files from an isolated, high-security network situated inside the CIA's Center for Cyber Intelligence in Langley, Virgina. It follows an introductory disclosure last month of CIA targeting French political parties and candidates in the lead up to the 2012 presidential election."

>So is VLC outright compromised, vulnerable to some kind of malware injection, or what?

I haven't seen anyone show proof of this. All I have seen is they use a modified VLC as a decoy program to exfiltrate data from a target system. They mention that the VLC player is loaded (either showing a movie clip or playing a song) and in the background it is siphoning data from the target system without anyone's knowledge.
>>
>>59290832
Everybody can do that btw

You just need a modified 2.4ghz dongle and do a dos attack on the tire pressure sensors on cars from the 2000s

bord computer shuts down then and that leads to a stalled engine

if being done at 150mph that could lead to harm

Honestly, playing the doubles advocate here for a second, they should just release everything. Even the damning, civilization destroying stuff.

The best way to end the problem and prevent it from ever happening again is by forcing a worst case scenario.

Hell, if Wikileaks has access to such leaked info and tools, then you can be damn sure other groups have it to and are actively using it for nefarious activity.

The NSA has free range over all Earth dwelling humans for passive recording of everything we do, touch, say, think, download, look at, read, hear, close and open. how long we do those thing, and who or what with. The ONLY thing the NSA has any red tape about it TAO, and even then it's a rubber stamp yes-men "court."

Somehow the CIA found this to be absolutely harram and created it's own internal TAO without any rubber stamp court.

Holy shit everything is shaking apart because Hillary didn't get her turn and it is so fucking INTERESTING to watch! We are currently in the best timeline. Good thing I don't have any """smart""" TVs, but I do own a smartphone. I already knew I was sacrificing privacy, but it's getting out of control.
Also, should I just nuke with Windows drive and just use Debian Sid? I can hold out a few months without native games by just using emulation.

Not going to lie, former prominent data analyst here. I worked for private business, been hired for federal contracts, and have worked with law enforcement numerous times on a series of cases.
I am very trusted by numerous sources to deliver high-quality results and be able to seek out and determine patterns in data, and correlate it all together to come to a swift and accurate conclusion.

After parsing through all this data, I have determined that there is nothing of any significant value in these so-called "leaks" whatsoever, and that we should not concern ourselves with the content of this.
I thoroughly request none of you should waste your time with this information, and just continue to let us experts deal with it and the repercussions of it.

Thank you

I'm no psychologist, but wouldn't he be more likely to drive carefully if he was that paranoid? I don't think a deep-seated fear of being 'accidented' to death would lead to reckless driving.

theres a (((TOP SECRET))) description about how they should proceed when wiping a phone etc. They actually reuse them. It could be that one of the Pi's got used - then wiped and it gets a +1 on the sterility scale?!

Like when some people use it over and over again it increases the chance someone fucks up and the device gets identified.

no, you wouldn't be able to find new exploits. You'd be able to find organizations which have the resources to identify the original exploits and see what they try to do with that info.
You can also use software security flaws as a way of feeding false info to foreign governments, a software 'double agent'. e.g., you find that the Chinese are using an exploit to track what some Nuclearsubmariners are doing on their personal iPhones off duty , you fuck around with the iPhones so you can fake user activity, and monitor how the Chinese use that data.

You have to analyze the situation.
Who are you and who is your enemy?
If you are nobody and your enemies doesn't have budget of USA's secret agency, then you are most likely fine.

If your life is dependent on something stored on your PC, then you should know all of this way before it hit public.

Either way we live in era where privacy is just a concept available only for plebs (aka 99% of population). The moment you become somebody rich / famous / important then literally anything can happen.

Not trying to be funny, but would it be 4channers or redditfags? CIA and other agencies have probably attempted to use "memes" to pass information, slide threads, or even see what constitutes a meme. Noticed how "bush did 9/11" become a mainstream meme and acceptable to say? There's pics like >>59292195 that look like niggers made it (still kind of funny though). Try saying that about the Boston Bombings.

The Snowden slides also showed how the NSA were astroturfing and using cognitive psychology all over the internet. All politics aside, the internet seemingly played a large role in the last presidental election, so obviously this is one more battlefield.

Let me simplify this for you:

It's not about making it impossible to spy on you. It's about making it too expensive.

The CIA can dump $10 million dollars into spying on one guy - and they'll be virtually guaranteed able to do it no matter what that guy does to try and protect himself. But the CIA can't dedicate $10 million dollars to 330 million people in the US and 2.5 or 4 billion or whatever in the whole world. They don't have the resources, money, manpower.

To put this in stupid: It's not about being impossible to be spied upon. It's about making it too expensive for them to bother.

Intelligence agencies hire only extreme normies for their entry level shit.

So that means no psychological ailments, no history with drugs, no criminal record, no membership to "extremist" political groups (far left or far right), no "radical" political views entirely for that matter, no debts, no addictive habits, no problems with the opposite sex (especially if you're married), no blood or personal relation to known terrorists, radicals, dissidents, etc. And to top it all off, your relatives/spouse have to check out as well. Because any one of these things can potentially be used to blackmail you or make you turn rogue or a leaker or what have you.

Now does any truly 1337 h4x0r on here pass ALL these checks? Chances are, they're only attracting semi-competent normies. Complete dullards.

Because they don't experience it first hand

You goddamn well better believe they would care the moment it directly impacts them.

Here, let me relate a story from ss13. For those who aren't familiar, it's a game with an AI in it that can access intercoms around a space station and eavesdrop on everything

Now, first hand experience: I eavesdrop on some people ERP'ing. They don't know, they don't care. I poke fun at them and let them know I'm dropping eaves, and they immediately stop, tell me to fuck off and stop spying, and then physically take apart/disable the intercom.

Now, this is a game where players who've died or haven't joined the round, as well as the admins, can literally see everything going on. I die, and low and behold there are 30+ ghosts watching these two ERP and cracking jokes, but they ONLY GAVE A FUCK AND TOOK ACTION WHEN I SAID SOMETHING TO MAKE IT APPARENT I WAS WATCHING THEM AS THE AI. An admin decides the show is over and makes all the ghosts visible, THE TWO IMMEDIATELY STOP ERP'ing AND DECIDE TO DO IT ANOTHER TIME.

They KNEW they could be watched at literally any fucking time, and they ONLY gave a fuck when I said I could see what they were doing and was watching, or when an admin made it clear everyone was watching their 'private' moment.

This is how people are. They won't give a fuck until it actually impacts them, because people are fuckin retards

This is reminiscent of a time I tried explaining how all this shit was bad and my mom came out with the "I've got nothing to hide" line. I gave an example she could relate to by asking, "would you like every single envelope addressed to you to be inspected by some unknown person before it is delivered?". She clicked and said, 'no, I suppose not in that case'. I genuinely think it's because the modern day tech is still so alien to them.

Murphy's Law of stuff you're looking for: When you look for it relentlessly, you can't find it. When you stop and say, 'fuck it' and go about your business, it turns up 90% of the time. happens to me all the time.

I hope so, but I don't think I'll ever stumple upon it like that.
It was a really obscure page that /b/, /g/, and possibly /x/ tried to access (it had a login form IIRC) 4 or 5 years ago for a few weeks then everyone just forgot about it.
Was probably just a stupid troll too.

How many mics does your phone have?

Dual microphones started appearing in smartphones a few years ago (e.g. Nokia smartphones and iPhones) which had 1 microphone specifically for voice, and a second specifically for video audio recording as the type of microphone and type of sound recording required were different.

Some phones have 2, especially the newer ones, to achieve stereo recordings.

By 2005/6 technology had advanced to the point where stereo microphones were introduced to help record better audio in video (e.g. the Nokia N93 which came out in 2005/6 has stereo microphones for video recording)....

Spin on 8 years, and we now have 3 microphones in a device, The iPhone 5 has 3, used to reduce noise from your voice, since it can figure out what to cancel.
