Does anyone know how I can set up loopback on line in, but still use my mic in linux? Both are plugged into the same sound card, so I have to change between them in the recording options.

Use Jack. You can combine any number of inputs and there are robust patch stations. Pulse also works better over jack than on bare hw.

Archbabby detected.

I make it a point to avoid all of Lennart's shitware, not just PA.
Is there anyway to select which which port I use on a pulse loopback device? It has analog-input-front-mic and analog-input-linein, but as far as I can tell I can only specify the device name, and I have to set which port to use manually (and exclusivly).

Ah, great. Another conspiracy theorist.
pirate Windows 7 and pirate proprietary music software OP
Linux is great but computers and software are tools and you are using the wrong tools

Even if you refuse to knowledge the negative influences this is having on the GNU/Linux ecosystem, the fact that it actively seeks to complicate basic system infrastructure should be reason enough to refuse systemd.

Pulseaudio does work pretty good for mixing if you're some kind of masochist/rtfm. It doesnt work for what Lennart DESIGNED it to do, but at least it failed in a decently usable direction.
You can set any number of virtual sinks and monitors and direct the signals through them willy nilly with enough effort.

There is no basic infrastructure for mixing audio though, pulseaudio is just another option which has gained popularity. Systemd is complete cancer but half the services it's gobbled up nobody really had opinions on anyway.
