I had to use a C2D laptop with XP on it for a week in January. Even with 2GB of RAM, it was perfectly usable for browsing the internet.

XP is ridiculous. A fresh boot loads like 190 MB on RAM if you're using 1 GB. That's what I call fucking lightweight.

What really hurts it is the major web browsers dropping support for it... Pale Meme should be supporting it as it even have builds for CPUs withoud SSE2.

I've used XP on 96MB of RAM befre.

main reason would be USB devices and games.

people used to pay me money to install them with XP drivers because none of their peripherals were supported

lack of support for a lot of video formats, web browsers in general, newer versions of flash and java, general system instability, security risks and in the end 7 is better

dont be wrong, its ok, i use it every day, but id much rather be using something newer
