>FBI would rather les loose more than 200 pedos than to make TOR more secure

FBI drops charges for over 200 pedophiles to protect Tor exploit used to bust Child Porn site

> The FBI refused to explain "how" they acquired over 200 IP addresses registered for downloading child pornography from an organized deep web pedophile website.

> Over 200 pedophiles were set free because the FBI did not want to give the method in which they cracked the Tor Network.

http://www.northcrane.com/2017/03/06/fbi-drops-charges-for-over-200-pedophiles-to-protect-tor-exploit-used-to-bust-child-porn-site/

US prosecutors have dropped a case against a man accused of using a child porn site because the government refused to divulge how it revealed his identity.

The Playpen site was located on the Tor network which is used to anonymise web-browsing activity.

The FBI found a way around this to reveal the users' real IP addresses and led to 200 prosecutions.

Is 200 in the hand worth tens of thousands in the bush?
>>

>in the bush
you know this is only because the FBI doesn't want a truly secure and private form of communication to exist, right? this is not just about pedos.
>>
Tor is a government honeypot. They don't want the people to know that the exploit doesn't exist.
>>
>>59275669
the rumor going around the interwebs is that the FBI setup these child porn sites in the first place, hosted and provided the images as a honeypot.

Of course they COULDN'T reveal this because this is technically illegal. Much like how the police can't employ and run prostitutes who provide sexual favors for cash to catch johns, law enforcement can't setup and run websites providing illegal content in order to catch people using them.

In short every single person they arrested were arrested with "evidence" that was unadmissible in court.

If true we probably should be asking questions about why the FBI is distributing child pornography. And why the person who came up with this idea still has a job.

>>59275911
You have no idea what they are talking about.

>>59275669
Wasn't there speculation and some evidence pointing towards the technical parts of the exploit in the mailing list? hold on I will try find it
>>
>>59275911
Tor isn't a honeypot, the child porn site was a honeypot.
FBI had to let them go because they can't admit they were distributing spyware-infected child porn.

The FBI owns CP and the CIA runs terrorist cells, when will all this change? Trump will fix this, right?
>>
>>59277982
Mossad runs terrorist cells, CIA & MI6 distribute drugs.
>>
>>59278024
CIA is also involved with ISIS along with various false flags and assassinations over the decades.

I'm not sure why the FBI would bother going through with the honeypot if they knew the evidence was inadmissible in court. Federal prosecutors like their slam dunk cases, and inadmissible evidence is a pretty fucking huge oversight, if that's the case.

It makes a little more sense if another agency was using the exploit on "bigger fish", and told the FBI to put the kibosh on revealing the exploit publicly.

Because they don't really care about pedos. They are pedos. The vast majority of pedos they catch are just looking for jailbait, and they don't have that much animosity towards them because they jerk off to the case files with the same enthusiasm as the perps.

The vast majority of human men are, by american standards, pedophiles. The actual disorder they suffer from is a failure to recognize that their "pedophilia" is only acceptable when paired with good looks, a good job, good prospects, a good personality, and being in good standing with society - a combination that happens to be nearly impossible past the age of 24 or so. Younger women are choice mates and are naturally only for choice men, and the average FBI agent considers himself a choice man wouldn't mind hitting a 17-20 year old in his 40s, a lot like the uglier, less successful 20 year olds they catch looking at 15 year old tits on 4chan. They really, really do not give a shit about the subject matter in itself and if you know an FBI agent and happen to have a teenage daughter he's probably seriously flirted with her at least once and has something illegal on a flash drive somewhere.

TorBROWSER is a honeypot. Javascript on by default is just asking to get busted. They claim it's all for usability but what they mean is not-security-focused.
>>
>>59278713
Tor browser is shit anyway, use whonix or a similar solution that forces ALL machine traffic through Tor.
You don't have to worry about javascript leaking your info when the operating system itself doesn't know its own ip.
>>
>>59275719
This man gets it.

At the level of the Feds, it's all about maintaining government power.

Pedos are just an easy and sympathetic target to test methods of stretching the legality of investigative techniques... even more than terrorists, imho.
>>
>>59279641
still capable of fingerprinting your machine even in a VM.
>>
>>59276040
Is that a rumor? I thought it was confirmed that they had taken control of the site and were therefore technically distributing CP.

I don't really know how much leeway the law gives the FBI in CP investigation though. It seems like a lot of precedent goes out the window in those cases.
>>
>>59278117
I'm sure the NSA discovered and told the FBI about the exploit.

The NSA wants it under wraps for national defense reasons.

In any case, the exploit probably isn't for tor itself. Like Silk Road, there was probably like an exploit in the site/ server... or some dub asses enabled JavaScript, or the media on the site had malware on it.
>>
>>59279692
they would have had to take control over it to distribute their malware, so yeah. FBI was delivering CP.

the fbi is a paid front for the cia.
they all need to be arrested. cia fbi nsa all must be arrested.

CanvasBlocker?
>>
>>59279719
honestly the ways of fingerprinting your machine could be anything down to processor response times on certain functions.
>>
>>59278117
You're a retard. Ever heard of "paralell construction"?

>>59275669
So the US government doesn't care enough about people downloading pictures/videos to throw away their Trump cards? Wow! I'm just baffled!
Who'd have thunk it!
