Laptops are hard to cool even if you use Intel, i am and AMD guy myself but you cant deny that older CPUs have a larger heat output, imagine trying to cool an AMD processor with some shitty laptop fan

But hopefully Zen will change that.

Previous generation AMD chips were horribly inefficient and hot. You'd either have a really slow laptop, or a thick one with shit battery life. Hopefully Ryzen changes this. I'd love it if Ryzen enabled cheap quad core laptops with half decent iGPUs that could handle productivity better than cheap Intel laptops, and even light gaming at 1080p.

Intel has enough money to work for a long time even losing money and until competitors gets weak, this is why it's so dangerous. That fine hardly compensates what they did.
