Where do I get started when I want to create .io games? I'm talking about those "Type in username and play" browser games like Agario. They seem like easy money if advertised correctly.
My problem is. While I know how to do all the client/browser side shit related to UI, graphics and animation. I have no clue how to make it multiplayer or how to set up the server and connect to it via javascript in the browser.
Any resources? I would have googled it if I knew what to google.
install gentoo
Learn how to program network connections and then pick an implemented example in a game and try analyzing that, seeing how your game might fit. Just don't search for javascript tutorials for this.

socket.io -> canvas API (often through P5.js or other such frameworks)

like clockwork

You might want to check out the open source server of agar.io, I'm stoned right now so I can't give you the link, you can find it, I believe in you.
There aren't many high quality js/canvas articles, books or tutorials available as far as my knowledge goes.
In that area, perhaps look for the communities around pixi.js, d3.js and shadertoy

Why are you linking rendering frameworks.
I already said that I have enough knowledge to do the client side related stuff,
How do I make it multiplayer?

He mentioned it - socket.io
Seriously easy javascript networking.

Yeah, seems that socket.io is down right now.
I guess I'll take a look at their Github page.
Learn how to program javascript?
Thats basically it. I don't know what else you might be asking about.
