I don't see anything wrong with Xubuntu.
But why is it not more popular?

No high dpi scaling

Among normal people? Because the ones smart enough to use Linux know it's shit.
Among /v/irgins? Because it actually comes with an xfeces desktop so they can't feel patrish by typing sudo pacman -S xfce4.

Its the most complete xfce desktop out of the box ive seen on any distro. Without downloading anything extra you can have a gorgeous windows 7 replacement thats intuitive to normies and still does all of the autistic shit you want.
Its not an autistic pretend hacker distro so larpy archfags cant get their internet cool points unless they install a twm and fake their screenfetch to say its gentoo

Xubuntu or ubuntu in general is bloated. For a quick comparison on my toughbook Xubuntu ram usage was around 800mb, without any programs open and Debian with xfce4 uses around 400mb. Xubuntu needs 2gb of ram to run well without optimization and debian is as easy to install as ubuntu
