Yawn

Do you remember how awful batteries were only 15 years ago?
>>59216605
You mean about the same as today?
I've got some old tech from 10+ years ago with lions that are similar capacity to ones now and lasted a similar time between chargss

The main difference is the power consumption.

Longevity of (consumer) Lithium chemistries and the ability to hold charge and not discharge on NiMh were issues.
But 99% of announced "breakthroughs" in power storage tech even then turned out to be duds. You could also get hyped every second day, almost nothing became reality.
Meh current batteries are........Goodenough.

Not for safety. We need batteries that don't billow toxic fumes or explode when ruptured.

Yes, jews will be jews when it comes to batteries. Everything is embedded and cannot be replaced. Where's the "supercapacitor" again?

Sadly this. I'm tired of hearing all this revolutionary battery technology that never makes it to consumers anyway or is in infant stage.

That's pretty much mandatory if you're going to use lithium in them. Lithium is a great thing to make a battery out of because it's light and has a high electrode potential. The thing is the reason it has that potential is because its so reactive.
if you want a battry that's filled with something less energetic, well, NiMH is still there, same as it always was.

This. I'll believe it when I see it.
