That's not how OCD works, it doesn't have to be consistent across all instances, only some things trigger you and one rule doesn't necessarily have to apply to all of them.

I used to have to breathe in a special pattern or else I'd get anxious, I imagined 2 stacks, and when I breathe in, it adds to the lower stack and if I breathe out it adds to the upper stack. It wasn't so simple though; There were special ways of breathing that would add to the stacks in different ways and all of those things had to be exactly equal. I vaguely remember also experiencing another symptom of OCD which is basically something like a phantom limb. I had some other "rituals" too but I think these ones were the worst.
