>get excited over all the Ryzen hype
>"wow, a fast, powerful 8-core cpu for $400" (looking at the 1700x)
>wait a minute
>realize I'd also have to drop $150-200 on a new motherboard and probably another $100-$120 on new RAM
>$400 turns into $700
I guess I'll stick with my gen 1 i5 for now...
still cheaper than a 6900k
>>59195408
Stop being poor you poorfag. Compared to jewtel its crazy affordable prices. And ryzen 5 will be even more affordable.
>>59195433
I don't want shitty Ryzen 5, I want Ryzen 7 like everyone else
>>59195439
I think 5 will be more popular than 7. Similar to how everyone recommends i5 over i7.
>>59195408
>gen 1 i5
youre gonna have to pay extra to upgrade to anything you fucking nigger retard
>>59195408
Ryzen is shit, you made the right choice
>ranting about the cost to upgrade to new platform when skylake basically do the same thing
>No one complaining
Damn....
Plus $110 for new Windows 10 key
>>59195863
Yeah, too bad that Skylake and Kaby Lake have motherboards at half the price.
>>59195882
>Plus $110 for new Windows 10 key
you can transfer license to new hardware with MS account
>>59195931
z270 is more expensive than x370 boards.
why do you lie about things everyone can check in a second?
>>59195675
Looks pretty good considering none of those games use more than 4 cores and are rather old.
Bioshock infinite specifically is a 5 year old game that uses 2 cores and is clockspeed dependent, so that's cool.
I don't know how you thought IPC was going to magically go way above skylake, anywho.
The whole point is you get 8 cores and 16 threads with good IPC for a ridiculously low price of 329$, cheap but well put together motherboards and newer I/O etc.
games that use 8 threads (DICE), some UE4, and crytek games, should equal the 7700k's performance. Not to mention you will still have 8 other threads for other shit!
>>59195675
>BUT MUH GAYMS
>>59195994
kek
>>59195675
literally the same person posting the same image where it shows how 1700X has 95% of the performance of the i7 6950x for 50% of the
price.
kek.
>>59195675
>cherry picked old games
>the only difference that matters is 20fps in one of them
damn shills are getting out of steam
>>59195994
>Ryzen is looking good guys
>I know what, let's start shilling for AMD and throw in Raja and his GPUs as well
>Meanwhile in reality AMD's GPU are shit, got outsold 10 to 1 by Pascal and all they were going for is better dx12 performance which is also history now that Nvidia announced dx12 driver update that boosts their performance by 15% on average
>few months from now on AMD will once again be an overhyped laughing stock cause of few retarded shills that keep posting shit like this
>You will deny all of it
I fucking hate the community I'm sharing my hardware with.
>>59196025
kys nigger
>>59195982
Z270 127€, X370 158€. Nice try idiot. The cheapest B350 is fucking 99€, while the cheapest B150 is 50€.
>>59196009
Actually this picture says a lot. Higher resolutions mean jack shit in this scenario because those Iranian poorfags used a 980 GTX in their benchmarks. Those 1080p scores are even because of a GPU bottleneck which means 1700X is at least good enough to stop bottlenecking a mid range card like 480 or 1060.
Lower resolutions where GPU had way more room to breathe show how behind Ryzen is, or what would happen if you actually had a 1080 Ti or 1080 paired with those CPUs.
>>59196006
Actually, that's quite facetious as well.
The 1700X is the 400$ mid-range Ryzen CPU, and the 6950x is a 1500$ CPU...
That's 3.75x more expensive for 5% more performance on average
Not to mention a Quad channel kit and socket 2011-v3 will be another 600$
You can literally buy a Ryzen 1700X CPU-Based system for the price of one 6950x.

or far less for the 1700 8GB RAM and a cheaper GPU, which happens to be the 6900k's price tag (although I don't know why you would want to only get 8gb of RAM)

Anyone trying to downplay the importance of this is laughable
>>59196006
Yeah, and it also shows that it has 95% of the performance of 4770K that was $50 cheaper at launch and launched Q2'13.
>>59195974
Does the free upgrade version qualify for this, ie. I had windows 7 before, and did the free upgrade?
>>59196074
In a single threaded workload, that's true! Congratulations for pointing that out! No one else would have guessed that :P
