Question for any of you technicians, how often do you get yourselves hurt or nearly killed in this line of work?

Never. This is /g/, people who waste their lives behind a keyboard. The only real thing that could happen is they stretch their wrist so hard they can't wank for a few days.
only once

The most dangerous part of my days is working on step-ladders. Electricity is dangerous too, but I mostly work with low voltage, which wont kill you.

I've gotten shocked a few times while going through the previous schlubs work
>LETS USE INCREDIBLY TIGHT ZIP TIES ON ALWAYS LIVE POWER LINES
Worst I got was a small black spot on my fingertip.

neither will most home voltages which will kill you in worst case scenarios but 9/10 times just bites you.

Pretty much pic related even though it's probably fake. Look up ElectroBOOM on youtube

He stages everything... Those 'explosions' are just hidden small caps overloading. I think he actually over loaded a circuit only once or twice.
