Trying to install Ubuntu because windows was mallard infested. Now I'm getting this when I boot and I can't access my bios.

How can I boot into Ubuntu from my live usb?

Nothing on google has helped so far.

you probably fucked up the Linux USB. What did you use to make the USB? Did you use EFI boot?

Did you remove windows or are you dual booting?
Ubuntu shouldn't have a problem setting up grub, but it looks like there isn't any grub entries setup. what version of ubuntu are you using?

This has happened to me a few times, and i'd normally just re-install and it would be okay ( on older versions of ubuntu ). I'd try to re-install it all and make sure you're setting a primary boot partition when installing ubuntu
>>
>>59177974

disable safe boot

change bios to OTHER OS (if its set to windows)

if you want to boot into ubuntu again to fix it just plug in your USB

enter bios or boot menu and select the USB stick

ubuntu is so fucking easy to install ... i dont know how anyone can fuck this up

No other community is as active as here though.

I can't access my bios otherwise I would have already changed the boot order.

I installed - well tried to install - the latest version of Ubuntu studio.

I have had no problems installing Mint or regular Ubuntu apart from what has happened just now.
>>
>>59178003
I installed with wubi, got to the final install phase and my pc restarted. Now I'm here.

Acer aspire v5

Normally I would just hit f2 to access bios like any other system but it doesn't work any more. Already tried with an external usb keyboard so I don't think it's a timing problem.
>>
>>59178086
Take your other computer, download the iso, make a live USB and do it correctly.
Grub comes after BIOS, you haven't changed anything that affects bios.
>>
>>59178106
I've created another live usb with my main computer. How can I boot to Ubuntu from it in grub?

And I can't change the boot order because I can't access the bios.
>>
>>59178134
You should be able to mess with bios. Keep trying to do that.
>>
>>59178086
you could of avoided this entirely if you just stopped downloading strange fetish porn infected with malware
>>
>>59178134
press F12 when you boot to bring up the boot menu

its either F10 or F12, i forget
>>
Okay managed to get back into Windows by running the exit command a few times.

How do I install this shit properly?
I cannot change the boot order because I can't access the Bios.
Even on the rare occasions when I can access it by running shutdown.exe /o /r the boot priority will not save.
>>
>>59178314
If you can get into the bios can't you just use f9 or whatever to go right to the boot device?
>>
>>59178336
I can't get into bios by pressing f2 / f12 on startup.

The only why I can get into bios is by running shutdown.exe /o /r and then from windows repair elect to restart in uefi bios mode.

When I change the boot device it will not save and will run the Windows bootloader anyway instead of the USB.

This is not a BIOS.

>>59178398

This is nor a GRUB. You're a sad piece of shit for trolling like this at this time. I can't imagine what has to go wrong in someone's life to make them end up with nothing better to do than pretending to be retarded.
>>
>>59178575
How do I launch super grub 2 disk without changing boot order? The only way I can do it is from grub command line and I don't know what to do. I can't change boot order because my bios doesn't save the settings.
>>
>>59178899
I was showing the way to get into bios in the first Pic. Second Pic I am in bios and then after changing boot order I go back into grub, which is the first Pic of the thread.
>>
>>59178906
a lot of motherboards have a boot menu you can call by pressing a key during BIOS, usually F9 or F11
>>
>>59178032
fag forgot to write grub out at the end of the install

Use rufus and the ubuntu iso to create your USB
>>
Ok, the problem was my bios. I flashed the latest update and I was able to boot from usb into Ubuntu and dual boot.

Now I have another problem, it's running horribly. The mouse pointer moves at about 3 frames per second and I can't open any apps or folders. It's installed to a 40gb partition. I'm just having bad luck.
>>
>>59177974
uninstall noobuntu and install gentoo or arch
>>
>>59179715
Installed gentoo to a school chromebook once, not even the IT crew could remove it ;)
