Computer Programming is the only skilled trade you can reliably self-teach without a formal education setting.
It's also the only skilled trade with no unions and the highest rate of worker displacement and outsourcing via the internet.
Why are programmers so eager to water down their field by making the barrier to entry so low that literally any third worlder with internet can take their job?
Name another field where people are so open about their field that they allow themselves to be put out of a job through ease of education.
Can you imagine lawyers encouraging you to self-teach law and taking the bar exam without going to law school?
