I respect freedom of choice of operating systems as long as you don't choose windows.
Platform independence means nothing should work on windows.
I believe in free software (as in freedom) but I refuse to compile my project for windows
you are free to choose any operating system though.
What can Linux do that Windows 7 can't?

GNU/Linux*
Linux is nothing more than a program in the GNU system.

oh shut the fuck up

Suck my nuts

Dependency hell.

update all my apps in one click/command.
Doesn't need to restart after every update.

that's called dynamic linking. it's a feature!

Thsi is Mac.
>>59152854
Install software from the internet without using a browser (even ReactOS can do this, and even FreeDOS, but Windows can't).
>>59154203
there is a store, you know. and third party package managers. Of course these alternatives suck compared to whats on linux, but your point is invalid
>>59152776
I love my Linux/gnu desktop, so fuck you.
>>59154290
Well the point is that the alternatives do suck. Even operating systems without GUI's or even a C library come with a decent package manager these days, compared to Windows' half-hearted attempts (which didn't even appear until they stopped being real Windows).
>>59153654
>>59154203
Fuck off. I do that on Windows with Chocolatey.
>>59155112
Doesn't count, it's not part of the operating system.
>>59155494
So any time nix users bring up some software work around to common problems I can use that excuse?
Thanks. Capped.
>>59155551
distros like debian have like 40000 packages.
most things are part of the operating system
>>59155494
OneGet is built in, and can use Chocolatey as the package source.
