I thought linux was supposed to be secure

nobody believes that Arch Linux is 'secure'
>>59146937
are you retarded? arch gets fixed packages first.
>3 vulnerabilities in linux-lts
Thank GNU I don't use the LTS version of Linux :^)
>>59146977
It also gets all the untested regressions first hand :^)
Solus is better anyway

If you're on unstable

>>59146926
In comparison to windows, yes
>>59147247
>he thinks 2 weeks old is bleeding edge
>>59146926
As long as all these retards continue developing in FUCKING C, this lunacy will continue. Forever.

you are welcome: https://www.redox-os.org/
>>59147261
It is.
>>59147156
>Only for 4.4
4.9 doesn't have this problem. Now that 4.4 is an older LTS expect less updates compared to newer 4.9
Ban C programming
>>59147321
At least i don't have to restart every month.
>>59146926
No one operating system is secure. Every system is vulnerable.
>>59147352
Except TempleOS

have fun with your deprecated kernel
>>59147302
It's also stable
>>59147849
No, Debian stable is stable. Gentoo stable is stable. Arch stable is bleeding edge.
>>59147594
To fire up your neurons for the first time in a while, they rot if you don't use them, you know?
>>59147887
Arch stable is latest stable upstream packages.
>>59146926
It is secure, because you know about those bugs so you can
-do prevention or workarounds while they are present
-find the problem in the code, fix it yourself then contribute to the programs project with your fix
-if you cannot fix it yourself, someone eventually do. The most serious Linux problems I witnessed in the past few years got fixed in a few hours flat and fixed packages were on the distros ftp servers next day.
Can you do this with Windows? No. You don't know about most of the bugs. You have no access to the code. Only MS can fix it. See you next patch tuesda-- OH WAIT MONTHLY SECURITY ROLLUPS LMAO
>>59147301
Good. Now how many kernels of various operating systems (legacy or still being updated) are written with C?
>>59146926
GNU/Linux*
>>59149389
Close to none. That doesn't mean that programmers should corroborate outdated languages and paradigms in a highly distributed world where the security of billions of devices depend on them, even indirectly. Best recent example: Cloudbleed.
>>59150019
correction: nearly all of them
