i think the newly announced phones are all good and all but i couldn't understand why they made the XZs, which is pretty much the XZ with added ram and the new camera. People will just forget about the 960fps after they get bored of it in a month or even less. not everyone is a wannabe sports journalist to capture those moments in slo-mo so i think people might just stick with the regular XZ.

or maybe i am wrong and people will buy it just for bragging rights, as they usually do with smartphones. hell, the entire point of XZ premium is "buy this and tell your friends about those specs until they get pissed"

If it's anything like the X Compact it will lack:

- An IP68 rating (Japan X-C does, but outside of the US it's undocumented)
- 4K30 recording.
- Or that new 960fps mode.
- Snapdragon 820
- EIS using the gyroscope
- a front-facing camera that's better than the 5MP camera on the X-C

It'll just be a mid-range, down-sized version of the XA1 with the Helio P20 chipset.

I agree with your points though, except the SoC will probably be one of those snapdragon offerings from the 6xx family. I don't think anyone would have any problems with speed with that SoC and 720p display.

I'm especially sad that Nokia's camera capabilities lie firmly in Microsoft's war chest now. Those tiny cameras on the new phones, with the low pixel count, and a small aperture, are a far, far cry from Pureview.
