Is this going to be the new 290X /g/?
>>
>>59143689
Yippers
>>
>>59143689
290X was a piece of shit card. constantly ran hot and sounded like a jet engine. First and last time i buy AMD. I'm sitting happily with my GTX 970.
>>
>>59143758
>talks shit about the 290x
>proceeds to praise the GTX 970
Not sure if bait.
>>
>>59143773
no bait.
my SSC 970 runs anything at 1080p maxed out. never ever hit the "3.5gb" meme and 1440p/4K is a meme
>>
>>59143773
The 970 wasn't bad
>>
>>59143689
>Uses more power then competitors
It uses less, pay fucking attention, jesus.
>>
>>59143782
My 290X can also do that
>>
>>59143689
No. This is going to be a good value CPU for anything that can utilize 8 cores, specifically speaking for the 1700. Intel is going to either weit and see or drop priced immideatly upon the first benchmarks hitting. All they need to do is cut like 50 bucks off those chips and they will still remain the best choice for muh gaymen.
>>
>>59143800
Yes it can at double the power consumption, and at least 90c with 100% fan speed. AMD's drivers are shit and they don't even have a Shadowplay competitor.

Except that's a lie shill
>>
>>59143911
Raptr/Plays.tv doesn't count.
>>
>>59143927

Relive meets or exceeds shadowplay in every way.
>>
>>59143927
AMD released ReLive.
If you're going to be retarded/a shill at least inform yourself you pathetic 970cuck.
>>
>Pretends to have a decent discussion thread
>Shits it all up before starting by defending 290x

It would be more subtle if you shilled for 300 series. R9 200 series was objectively dogshit.

Also what to fuck do you mean with Intel aging like milk? They're not AMD meme CPUs that can easily break pins every time some retard normie mistreats them. Intel CPUs are pretty damn hard to damage and they're probably safest bet when it comes to buying any used hardware. Intel's stupid policy of releasing a CPU every year with no gains only makes it better cause it means you can get something like 3770k for dirt cheap while having performance similar to Skylake and Broadwell. And then you have the whole used market of xeons. God bless Intel's used parts.
>>
>>59143822
https://www.amd.com/en-gb/innovations/software-technologies/radeon-software/gaming/radeon-relive

I guess an nvidiot wouldn't expect to look for a feature in his drivers without connecting them to Facebook
>>
>>59143689
It uses significantly less power and has more OC headroom than broadwell or kaby lake.
>>
>>59143991

ISHYGDDT
>>
>>59143927
I don't do streaming because like I like yourself am uninteresting and nobody wants to watch a boring faggot play bideo games.

but isn't radeon relive for streaming?
>>
>>59143783
Performance wise?
No, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't superior to the 290x.

The 3.5 meme will forever haunt it though.
Aftermarket 290x were godsend cards, true it had shit TDP, but aside from people living on 3rd World countries in terms of electrical bills nobody cared.

I live in Switzerland and electricity is dirt cheap over here, I had a 2kWatt Ventilator running all summer long 24/7 and the bill barely increased, around 20CHF or so...

Yes, I know, TDP plays a big role for temps, that's why I said that aftermarket was a godsend, cards fans weren't loud and temps were fine.
>>
>>59143991
you don't even need geforce experience installed for drivers to work you AMDrone.
>>
>>59144022
I love how AMD retards think TDP only implies electric bill and completely ignore the part where all 290x cards acted like furnaces reaching 80 degrees +.

>>59143991
Yes yes Relive is so good that people started suggesting installing updates without it because it causes issues with frame fluctuations. But hey it looks good on paper so it's the best shit ever right? Same way AMD retards don't like min/max fps benchmarks right?

Well that's good because that's not what I was referring to.
If you had pulled your mouth off of Nvidia's cock within the past 3-4 months, you'd have noticed Relive by now.
>>

>A-actually they do but, uh, it, uh, sucks! I saw a reddit post about it!
The backpedaling is real
>>
>>59143984
200 series was great aside from AMD's reference coolers that were fucking dogshit.
>>59144022
I wouldn't say electricity is cheap here but it sure helps not being a poorfag.
>>59144047
If you don't cool a 50w TDP card it'll reach 100c too. It doesn't matter when the card reaches 90c or stays at 60c since the dissipated heat is the same.

I'd agree with you but for now nothing on TDP was confirmed not even from currytech.
Intel turn to be hosuefire company with their kabylake-x.
>>
>>59144047
>All cards
Reference cards. Go run a reference 980 or 1080 under load and overclocked for a few hours and see how hot it gets.
>>
>haha, AMD is so shit! It loses to 7700k in ST by 7% but only beats it by 80% in MT! AMD IS FINISHED

Nice, does everyone here play SuperPi and Cinnebench all day? Those are great games.
>>
>>59143758
why did you buy reference? how stupid are you?
>>
>>59144022
>2kWatt Ventilator
yeah, doubt it unless its the size of the wall of your room

do you mean 200W?

also people usually just say how much they pay for kW
slovakia here, we pay 7 cents during low peek(evenings, nights, weekend), and 14 cents during high peeks
>>
>>59144073
>It doesn't matter when the card reaches 90c or stays at 60c since the dissipated heat is the same
Nitpick: the hotter the heatsink (or rather the greater ∆T between ambient and the heatsink) the faster it will cool off
>>

>need to install blaot and log in to run shadowplay

>>
>>59144098
He didn't, at least I hope he didn't if he's frequently on /g/, he should know better than to buy a card that uses 70dkg block of aluminum for a heatsink
>>

Linus forgot to turn on XMP memory, and doesn't understand Ryzen is a SoC that has 24 PCIe lanes but more could be provided by the motherboard if a vendor wanted (especially for SLI purposes where the lanes would only need to be between the PCIe buses, not to the CPU)

Nvidia fags
Biggest cucks of the year award.

>Buys shitty nvidia cards
>Always worse performance after a year compared to older AMD competitor
>Brags about "features" that are not only worse on Nvidia but also costs more as if they're not on AMD products

If Nvidia made cards these cucks would be bragging about the "G-Wheelsâ„¢!"

Nvcuck:"Haha fucking Ford doesn't even use G-Wheels, How does it even work without them?"
Smart Individual: "You mean tires?"
Nvcuck: "But they aren't G-Wheels!"
Smart Individual: "Ford wheels are better, and they don't brag about it"
Nvcuck: "BUT MUH MINDSHARE!"

I wouldn't buy Nvidia shit but the 970 was insane when it launched. Keep in mind the 290x was trading at around $500+ at the time and here comes the "midrange" card from Nvidia, offering the same performance at ~$340 while drawing much less power and running much quieter.

No physical reference also meant a full sweep of semi and full custom cards were available day one.

We know now it's a shitty gimped meme card, but there's a good reason it turned so many heads.

If you have a 1070, You had no choice but to over-spend.

Either way I feel bad for you, son.

>>

It's a GTX 780 Ti , and I'd never buy something like an AMD card. I already have a space heater for my house. AMD still has no answer to G-Sync for under 30 frames per second.

I feel bad for you son.

My 290x gets 60c maxxed and does 1440p and 144hz fine on even the newest games, and on my 200$ cheaper FreeSync monitor... And I bought it almost 5 years ago

I also own a 5-bedroom home BTW :P

Sucks for cucks like you to choose between an Nvidia Graphics Card and a house

I'm happy you have that kind of money to spend on just one hobby.
But I abhor your choice of SLI.

>>59144867
I never much cared about the heat problem due to my ventilation, but I can understand the G-sync problem. Perhaps if they increased prices for their free-sync monitors by $150, they could solve that.

There is literally nothing wrong with the 970, faggot.
>>
>>59144867

This doesn't make sense. Why is it even needed? If you have a discreet graphics card, you're probably running everything way above that. If you're on a budget, a sync monitor is out of the question
>>
>>59144907
If you really want to get into willy waving.
What makes you think I havent got my own house? (I have yes)
Funny I was playing sniper elite4 last night and was getting over 144fps in dx2.
Im not sure how you think a 1080 is the same clock as a 980.
Also im not the one posting on here at 6am where they live.
Me, im at work and its 11am.
>>59144924
I bought one 1080 and the other I got in exchange for doing some work at a friends house. I exchanged it for some flooring.
>>
>>59144927

He mentions how the 970 is a great 1440p card, and 970 Can't do 1440p on 3-year old games, so there's that.

(3.5gb ram)
(low memory bandwidth)
(color memeing doesn't work for black and white)

I remember when the 1440p and 4K benchmarks came out years ago, when the lowly 290 and 290x were smoking the 980, Titan, 780 Ti in 1440p and 4K and everyone disregarded it as a meme because so many people were still using 720p panels.

Meanwhile Consoles are starting to do 4K standard.

What resolution and framerate do you use?

If it's not above 2560x1440p 144fps,
Sell that now while you still have the chance and reinvest the money into a 1080ti when it comes out.

I run at 2560x1440p on a asus gsync It has 60/120 and 144hz modes. so yeah they are fine.
