i added to my resume that i have experience with GNU/Linux based operating systems in particular Arch and Gentoo
never heard back
did i fall for yet another meme /g/ ?

Literally no employer cares about your Linux experience outside of RHEL or just basic Linux experience (IE - Dont actually list your meme distros you retard)
>>59142433
How about just listing Linux experience? Depends on opening if course (it vs programming) but would it be advised?
>>59142397
leave out "arch and gentoo"
>>59142397
just mention you have experience using linux and BASH (or whatever shell you use i guess)
>>59142397
trying adding i3/yaourt to your resume

I interview and hire for Linux positions and Id prefer someone who tinkered with arch/Gentoo over someone who can only think within the context of the RHCSA.

Do you need a degree for this? Asking for a friend.
>>59142397
I wrote gentoo and they called me to an interview. The technical test was fun, but the ass-kissing contest failed because i forgot to lie.

God speed you beautiful bastard.
I hope you only mentioned Linux/shell experience. Gentoo/Arch experience certainly is better than someone who installed mint in a vm when they were 10 and otherwise use windows all day (assuming the position requires it), but there's no way to make either of those distros or any other sound relevant.
I've applied to C developer position. They offered me twice less than I earn as a shitty CRM C# developer.
I said that I'll think about it. What should I do, anon?
>>59142896
what kind of C developer position? how much did they offer you?
>>59142896
what do you mean by twice less?!
>>59143008
Embedded linux (VoIP, WiFi). $1000 (I'm from Russia).
>>59143032
1/2
>>59143093
whyd you ever do that?!
makes no sense ... save up 50% of your money and get out of the motherland ASAP
