Hey, I need quick help on a decision choosing between a router or a switch for using ps4 remote play on my pc.
I was playing PS4 on remote play connected to my pc with wifi. However, the connection on my wifi is terrible, so I decide to go to using ethernet cables connected to either a router or a switch so both ps4 and my pc can connect to the internet and with each other simultaneously under the same ip address. Which is best? The router or the switch?

You want a switch anon. You could have googled this just as quick as typing it

Really? I've done a little research and some are saying a switch connects all devices to the same network. A router would allow devices to all simultaneously use the internet.

Switches will assign a different IP to every device, routers will assign a single IP to everything.

So your saying a router would be better?

In your case, yes. All switchs do is increase the number of ports of your modem, routers can create domestic networks and shit like that.
Just an advise, ask /sqt/ next time.
holy fuck, the state of /g/ in 2017
