For those without the Windows 10 Explorer iso mounting, are you still using DaemonTools? I remember it being so janky at times but hadn't heard of anything else coming along.
>windows only got the ability to mount images 2 years ago
holy lel. even os x had it from start
I always just unpack ISOs with 7zip, is that wrong?
>>59135147
Iso mounting was present starting with windows 8, either via explorer or powershell cmdlet (mount-DiskImage -ImagePath)
>>59135124
Was using Virtual CloneDrive, but there are plenty free alternatives to daemon tools.
>>59135173
If you need files right now, mounting is faster option. I.e. you don't have to wait to unpack.
Poweriso.
>not using WinCDemu
plebs
Yes, I currently use Daemon Tools 3.47. I'm thinking of switching to ImDisk since it can mount hard drive images and make RAM disks too.
>>59136552
imdisk is great
>>59135124
mounting iso? for what purpose?
I used iso files maybe 10 times in last 5 or so years, and every single time unpacking them with 7z was more than enough

Common if you play Chinese hentai games.
Use Portable Alcohol. It's free, lightweight and official from Alcoholsoft. Lots of formats working and emulates mixed mode discs (like old games that have music as CD tracks, that DON'T work in WinCDemu)
>>59136614
Yeah I ended up unpacking it when I realized that would probably work fine the way the disc was built, it was literally just an exe file, no clue why they even packed it as an iso.
>>59136683
Lel'd
>>59135124
I installed WinCD Emu because I'm use to it, I didn't notice Win10 would did it
>>59135124
use wincd emu...i used to have poweriso but i uninstalled it for this.
>>59137513
>>59137532
These. Wincd emu is goat
>>59135124
Back when safedisc was being replaced with securom (2003?) I dropped daemon tools for a paid copy of alchohol 120% because it could properly emulate/copy the 16bit subchannel stuff.
I haven't looked at this since but it's strange that windows still has these problems.
I roll MagicISO. It just werks.
>>59135124
WinCDEmu is much better. Smaller than Daemon Tools, isn't full of bloat, and probably doesn't report back to Chinese defense servers
>>59137532
>wincd emu
GOAT FTW, unbloated and effective as fuck
>>59135124
>ctrl+f WinCD

Noice.
