I want to add Bluetooth to my desktop so I can use wireless headphones. Is a dedicated card better then one of those tiny USB dongles?
No, maybe a slight range advantage from the card's larger antenna. But Bluetooth is slower than USB 2.0, so unless you are dongle is shit; it should be just as fast.

I googled in Bluetooth pcie card and this is one of the first things I found. Well this is actually the newest version of it.

It's a gigabyte/intel Wi-Fi + bluetooth card. It costs about $37. I actually have this card and it works wirelessly with my dualshock 4 like a champ. just be sure to google intel 8620 (I think) and download the newest bluetooth and wifi drivers from Intel's website.
and of course you'll have the decent wifi too. unless what you have is already better (like Ethernet or something).

works on win/mac/linux.
I bought a few chink ones and they all fucking sucked because of drivers. I could never get my wireless headset working with them. got this iogear and it worked on 1st try.
