Hi /g/, I'm a long time Windows user that would like to be a linux desktop user. I don't know how to program or anything about computers. Am huge anime faggot who sometimes draws. Which distro do you recommend?
None. There's too many trade offs that doesn't make Linux worthwhile in a desktop.

Try Mint Cinnamon, be sure to install Gimp, or Inkscape if you're more of a vector guy. You can copy and paste back and forth between them on the fly too.
Ubuntu is super userfriendly and it has a huge community, also it comes preinstalled with a lot of the programs you'll ever need

What are some Linux tradeoffs? Not having Photoshop or lots of other windows only programs ?

Don't listen to him. He sounds like those guys from the 50's or something when computers were still a timesharing system and not personal appliances. Most of us simply don't have much use for a computer honestly. Facebook and online shopping are really the only exceptions since it adds dimensions of being able to interact with people aside from a telephone line, and consumerism isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
Free OS' should be the default system people learn how to use a computer on. Windows just has better hardware support with drivers to get stuff like your image scanner or printer working. There are hundreds or thousands of people paid to sit around and figure out how to get that sort of stuff to work on windows, unix like systems don't really have that type of work force or really much incentive for your scanner to work like a microsoft company would.

Not having shit tightly integrated usually, but you will always find some alternative, like combining Gimp and Inkscape for Photoshop. Often, you will actually find the same software build for Linux too. If you do need a specific program built for Windows, it will often run through Wine, and if it doesn't, CrossOver.

OP, just bite the bullet, buckle down, and learn Arch. It will be tough at first but you will learn the ins and outs of a Linux system. Plus you can configure your system to your specifications and not someone elses.
