I use a computer for 8+ hrs every day and I've noticed I'm startign to have some pains in my arms. I use my keyboard like in pic related and after some searching, that's apparently bad.
How do I use my keyboard and mouse so I don't feel pain/discomfort?
How's your RSI situation, /g/?
Push your keyboard back a foot, scoot in and rest your elbows on your desk.
Alternatively, find a stray cat and euthanize it, then put it in front of your keyboard and rest your wrists on it. You will have to get a fresh cat every so often as they wear out.

Only 21 and RSI started flaring up a few months ago. Got scared so I got wrist braces and try to always keep my hand and fingers lower than my wrist. Also do wrist strengthening exercises every now and then. It's gotten a lot better now and my next purchase will be a split mechanical keyboard.
Reduce computer sittings to about 45mn
and walk around for a little,
also exercise your hands once in a while
and stand up straight while sitting down.

wait, why aren't keyboards called cats so we could have cats and mice?

Hands and fingers no higher than the wrist. This as been taught in piano for hundreds of years if you want best mobility and posture. If you're "clawing", raise your wrists higher. Get a lower table. Get a higher chair. Anything.

Yeah, but it's impossible to find a keyboard that works that way.

>wrist strengthening exercises
Is that what the kids are calling it these days?
>get a nice keyboard, like a mechnical w/ brown switches
>push the keyboard away
>put the legs down, they don't actually make typing any easier
>wristrests can actually hurt your hands due to putting pressure on the veins on the bottom of your wrists, don't put too much pressure on them
(oppai mousepads are actually fucking fantastic for your hands because they support your hands without putting pressure on your veins
>double check your watch isn't too tight or causing problems
