The main bulk of the software I've bought is work related. I work in tv/film editing so I've paid for a bunch of weird programmes I need to be able to do jobs. I used to pirate everything and anything until I got a job which put quite a bit of cash into my pocket compared to the minimum wage/neet life I was living before. Now a $60 game and $70 worth of new movies on blurays isn't even so much as an after thought. I still block all ads within my browser because they're annoying. I paid for office 2007 ultimate (60$ student deal, commercial use included.) Got a free upgrade to office 2010 Pro out of that and probably will never upgrade until Microsoft forces my hand.

Paid for Windows 8 because the kms activator was a piece of shit. Took the free upgrade to Windows 10. Sort of regret it, but I need it for Memelake.

I pay for wolfram alpha pro, worth every penny, it taught me more about calculus than my useless professor.

I pay for Spotify and You Need a Budget. I hate recurring fees but they're just too damn good at what they do.

I've never, ever and never, ever will, donate. I've bought plenty of things because the only way to get the features I want was by monetary transaction, but if I get nothing, I will pay nothing. There's no moral objection here, just basic rationale and reasoning.

I pirate stuff, but if I like the products and they're reasonably priced, I buy them legitimately

I'm thinking about getting Mathematica. Might be useful for some of the stuff I do related to programming and my job. Should I pull the trigger on it?

>he blocks ads
Nope I click them and then block them with pic related
>He pirates stuff
Nope just watch movies on Putlocker
>He does everything possible not to support others
Nope, pic related. Support the sites I like at the expense of the advertisers shitting up the web with ads.

Pretty much this, your average /g/ user will never get a job.

I am one of the three people with a google play music subscription. The best part is that here in europe it doesn't even give you youtube red because google hates non-americans.

> What software do you actually pay for
Everythig that's on my android, because I can pirate it. Everything on my Steam as well, tons of games, but no Denuvo games, since I can't pirate them. Same goes for iOS software: I'd like to throw a few bucks, but I don't like the idea of a possible Appstore ban without being able to get a software by any other way.
>>
A load of steam games, several apps on my phone (nova, poweramp, titanbackup and some others).
Display Fusion on pc, was using a pirated version for a while and got tired of the devs baby popping up every time saying he needs cash for food. Also it was on sale on steam.
I might buy windows 7 soon because my system really needs some updates.

I've given small amounts to rtmpdump and syncplay. Syncplay is a niche software so I wanted to show appreciation for their existence. I simply use rtmpdump a lot.
