>post yfw you don't do anything productive, you don't even play video games anymore because they quickly bore you, yet you still keep engaging in shitposting wars about $300-$500 CPUs that you don't need but still will end up buying one.
WTF is wrong with me

Meh, plenty of folks own million dollar sports cares and never even drive them. If you enjoy the extra speed for general use you'll get out of it why not? I wouldn't worry about it.

>CPUs that you don't need
They fill an empty void inside you.
I develop software for a living and my $90 AMD FX-6300 @ 4 GHz is perfectly adequate. I certainly wouldn't be more productive with the latest $500 CPU, even though I could easily afford it
Notice how many successful developers don't need triple monitor setups but consciously choose to work with one?
Eric S. Raymond used a Core 2 Duo CPU until recently.
Linus Torvalds uses 1 monitor.
Jeff Dean uses 1 monitor.
Terry Davis uses 1 monitor at 640x480.
None of them buy $500 mechanical keyboards with RGB lighting, handwoven braided cables and "artisan" caps.
None of them buy $500 GPUs either.
You need to establish an avatar spirit guide.
Visualize a monk.
Not a gaudy materialist who defines himself by his soulless possessions.
Instead of the $500 CPU, buy books and read them. Or just get an eBook reader and download them for free, if that's more your thing.
Worldly possessions are a deceptive drug, that ultimately just steal your vibes.
Remember that you will die. Life will end.

It's funny because I had infinitely more fun and productive lifestyle back when my computing hardware was low-end.
>>59095282
Its because low end hardware requires interaction. This satisfies your boredom. If your pc can do anything, instant, why 'play' with him. You get bored and seek entertainment.
I have the same dilemma OP. I have a nice gaming computer but don't feel like playing games anymore.
I want to learn some maths and basic computer coding stuff but I have 0 motivation. Just go to work, come home, gym, anddd browse the internet before it's time to go to work.
I've been laid up for a month now and all I've been doing is watching YouTube videos on my $1100 laptop which is 6 feet from my $1300 computer.
I just don't get how people feel like doing things and learning stuff.

Why do you space your posts like this, redditor?
>>59094426
I understand you anon. Same thing with me I bought 4790k for Korean mmo then I stopped playing it. Next purchase of 390 made me give up sessions longer than two hours in any game... I can keep shitposting and browsing info about hardware whole day. And I plan to replace 4790k with 1700x/1800x....

I own a Thinkpad with Intel graphics (HD520). I don't play too much but I wish I could play anything beside old games in low settings. I can't even get 30 fps on 2012 games.
I'm actually thinking about buying a Mechanical Keyboard, an also, probably someday do an eGPU montage on my TP (I don't wanna build a pc just for gaymus).

Linus did buy a mechanical though
Read a fucking book
