I'm wanting to add a second monitor in portrait, but wasn't sure what size/resolution to get. My primary is a 27" 1440p that is approximately 16" tall. If I move it to the side a bit, I can accommodate a monitor that is under 13" in width in portrait. Any ideas? I've been looking at 20" 1440x900, but I wasn't sure if that would be enough workspace to fit documents/streams/webpages.

What you might want to do is put all your stuff somewhere else, And make room on your desk so you're able to add multiple monitors

Your 27inch 1440 is 108ppi
20 inch 1080 would be 110

Thats close enough that you wouldnt mind as long as youre not stretching windows across both monitors.

Putting in 27 and 20 tells us the 20 would be just under 10inches wide in portrait. Also tells us if you can stretch the room a bit (which is likely, many including myself prefer 2nd monitor to be angled towards them rather than flat) you could just get matching monitors.

That should give you an idea

The speakers are the limiting factor, but those can't really be moved. No room for stands.

Can't seem to find any 20" 1080p displays. Most are 1440x900 or 1600x900. Max size I can fit in there with bezels is around a 20" monitor.
>>
You're better off with a large 4k display.

Well, the whole idea behind the two displays is that I could play vidya/watch movies on my main screen while having normiebook and other shit open on the other. Also, for excel and work stuff.

Where can you even buy such a autist tier resolution? Just get a second hand 22 inch 1080p for like $50.
