Important announcement: Solus is the only good Linux distro.
Install Solus today and happiness will come to you.
>>59064208
I only care because I want to see Budgie-Qt. Otherwise Solus itself is a trash
>>59064208
Fuck off you fucking shill.

KKKKEEEEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNN
>>59064224
>qt fanboys wanting to see a non-shit qt based DE
why am i not suprised?
>>59064224
Yeah, I was just about to drop solus off my radar until they announced this. Better come quickly
>>59064312
Who is Kevin? Why do people assume I'm Kevin whenever I post good things about Solus?
>>59064208
no i686, can't use it.
I just dropped it for Mint. I couldn't take the fact that it had nothing in the repository. Boots fast as hell tho.
The logo is kinda shitty tho
>>59064208
does the budgie desktop have anything that replaces krunner?

>Using mint instead of Ubuntu
Full retard detector
>>59064337
Nice try, Kevin.
>>59065039
ubuntu wanted to be like a good debian and failed.
mint got it right.
>>59064250
>>59064419
>>59064574
these are really bad desu
>>59065793
Mint is literally Ubuntu but worse
>>59064773
who the fuck is kevin and why should i care
>>59066176
Ok Kevin you can stop now.
>>59066238
aint i sucking your cock as i should
>>59066001
Agreed.
Ubuntu is worse.
>>59064208
Fucking kevin back to Shilling Solus.
>renamed man pages because it triggered femicucks
No thanks
>>59066584
doesnt it stand for like "manual" or something
>>59064208
How good is solus? Will it work on a shit tier PC?
>>59066629
yes.
manual is english for Emanuel, aka Jesus, the ultimate patriarchy mansplaining you how applications work.
It is sexist and you know it.
>>59064417
so there is no usable alternative to kde?
>>59066868
>implying kde is usable
>>59066584
what
>>59066416
It can't be though, logically. Since mint is just Ubuntu without some things that make Ubuntu good
>>59066994
>implying there's something that makes ubuntu good
>>59067048
>Long term support
>Plethora of PPAs for community support
>Functioning graphics drivers
>Consistent updates
>Widest variety of DEs/wms available with stable and unified packaging
>Security
Mint lacks all of those things
>>59066868
Only GNOME is usable.
I use ubunut
:^)
>>59067089
>De-facto 2 years LTS
>Launchpad sucks ass
>Outdated drivers
>sudo pacman -Syu is safer than Ubuntu release upgrades
>Arch has more anyway
>deb is the opposite of security
I agree that Mint sucks ass, but Ubuntu isn't good either. Compare that to Solus:
>Rolling release
>Yep, community support is shit but ikea's finally going to let the fucking maintainers in
>Latest drivers that are great af
>No release upgrades, consistent af
>Sae issue as second
>rn CVEs get rekt momentarily, plus the standards are enforced
Basically Solus is perfect for everything but packages, and even that is going to be fixed soon.
P.S. not kevin
>solus
Thats a weird way to spell opensuse
>>59067392
go away you nazi retard
>>59066953
It is though.
Config files have a frontend so new users do not have to read long manuals to find options.
Applications are better, (more features and modular).
Keyboard based desktop paradigm.
And the most important thing, it has krunner.
None of the alternative desktops have an alternative or replacement.
Even such a simple part as getting a fucking calculator right is hard for these people.
>>59067359
I don't disagree. Solus is incredible, but still has broken dgpu drivers for laptops and yes lack of packages/support
I wish it was more modular on the de front, though.
>>59067607
>>59067607
The settings are cluttered and can easily break stuff without proper knowledge.
Lots of features are half-assed and sometimes don't work properly
Lots of little issues that stack up and become so fucking annoying that even GNOME looks better in comparison
Design inconcistencies everywhere. Even on the KDE websites. Well, of course it will happen, cause the devs are more focused on shitting out moar bells and whistles than polishing the user experience.
I wouldn't use such bad DE just for a pumped up runner I don't use. I am satisfied with GNOME Calculator anyway.
>>59065851
I haven't finished meme school yet. Do I at least get credit for trying?
>>59067762
>The settings are cluttered and can easily break stuff without proper knowledge.
But users are given the choice to fuck shit up.
>Lots of features are half-assed and sometimes don't work properly
Most of what I use works perfectly fine.
The rest works when I apply it in the specific way it was intended to be used.
>Design inconcistencies everywhere.
I find that feature wise applications are very consistent.
The graphical stuff changes, because it is designed by different people and the applications are updated separately.
It has improved a lot lately.
Krunner is the main reason I use it though.
You cannot replace it by switching between a dozen applications.
It will always be slower than having instant access to what you want.
>>59068637
>It has improved a lot lately
Yeah, I'm hearing this bullshit a lot
