Why aren't you using Windows Server 2012 R2 as your desktop OS, /g/?

>server tier performance
>no bloatware
>no botnet (no cortana)
>supports up to 4 TB of internal memory
>up to 64 10-core processors = 640 cores
>desktop is default interface
>boots way faster than any other windows
>stability that makes Linux users question their faith
>can add IIS and have a decent web server with a couple of mouse clicks
>can add Active Directory or convert to a DNS or DHCP server for fun
>>
>>59062871
Because it's almost as retarded as using win10.

Win7, 8.1 still get updated
Hell, even Server 2008 (based on Vista) and POSReady2009 still get updates
>>
Wow, everything you can do with Linux, and closed source too!

Btw, if you're arguing useless metrics like max specs supported, Linux supports 4096 CPU cores, and exabytes of memory

No one who's not autistic wants to spend over 3 weeks configuring a web server before you get to actually use it.
>>
>>59062871

>can add IIS and have a decent webserver with a couple clicks

HAHAHHA thanks for that.
>>

>3 weeks configuring a web server

Aside the usual shill bullshit, do you need 3 weeks to configure a webserver?
>>
>>59062871
because:
>don't have server grade hardware
>already debotneted with 2015 LTSB N
Why should I reinstall another OS just for features I'll never use?
>>
>>59063484
>already debotneted with 2015 LTSB N

How?
>>
>>59063541
Anon thinks it doesn't have telemetry.
>>
>>59063183
My entire server is hosted on 46 lines of text but okay buddy
>>
>>59063588
It doesn't. I used a normal installation and i see no microsoft services when using wireshark. The N means all microsoft services are not installed by default.
>>
>>59062871
Because I use a desktop, not a server.

I use Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB, it's Windows 10 with all the bullshit removed including Cortana.

Impossible, Windows 10 is bullshit to the core

Windows 8.1 best OS.

No seriously, there's no real incentive with 10, looks better and can be tampered with better. And it still has more support than 7. And I have experienced that, after a clean install of W8.1 Update 1 is probably the most stable experience I had with a Windows system as long as I don't update.
>>
Can I play games in it even directx 12 ones? If not into the trash it goes.
>>
>>59063183
lol?

then make a gui that can do that.

it's not like it's hard. both nginx and apache httpd have well structured configs.

all you would need is basic templates and muh drop downs and text field gooeys and you'd be good to go
>>
>>59066948
post netstat/wireshark
>>
>>59062871
pictured is the exact os I'm currently installing on our all workstations to replace windows 10 pro

Gonna keep linux and freebsd on servers though.
>>
>>59063854
The N means the media features and Cortana are not installed by default. You still have botnet. It can't be stopped even on Enterprise.

>inb4 host file
You have to block at the router lvl
>>
>>59067623
even then, m$ has an entire /8 block so you're kind of wasting time. there isn't any reason they couldn't just push some "generic update for something" that uses static IPs from said /8 block.
